Question about 2002 Pontiac Sunfire
Use a cordless drill to drill the lock cylinder out.a 3/8 bit will provide enough clearance to remove the lock assembly.

I assume you have the key on steering column. All this does is move the linkage that is hooked into the ign switch. The switch is located down toward the floorboard. If memory serves it has two 1/4 in drive fasteners that hold it to column. Once you remove these just remove the old switch and you are ready to replace with new one.
