Question about 1990 Jeep Comanche

Help I have a 1990 Jeep Comanche problem. If I put the gas Make backfire, But on Minimum is working normal. I change Ignition Module, Ignition coil, Pickup coil, Air filter, Extirior Gas Filter, ECU module, and I can't found of problem , I Spend lot money not did nothing Appreciate if some bodyelse help me.

Ive run into this once before and it turned out to be the intake valve spring was broken not giving the correct seat pressure. not sure its your problem but it looks like you have covered all the other bases.

your timing is out ask a local mechanic to check it out for you ,maybe even the firing order

If is fuel injected try checking the fuel regulator and if is has a carburetor possible bad choke or needle seat / worse case jump timing

I have a 1990 jeep comanche that does not have spark, i have replaced the crank sensor, wires, coil and module. i have power to the module and the coil tests good.i am out of ideas


Try your camshaft position sensor. A lot of people over look that part. I had the same problem in a 95 YJ and did everything you did, but when I replaced the camshaft sensor it started right up. Hope this helps. Oh yeah, and it is located in the distributer. It is the black plastic disc with the wires comming out. Took me forever to figure out where it was at first!

It would be great if you could find the Ignition Control Module!!! From my experience on my Jeep...90 YJ 4.2 liter carb. it does not have one...Computer controlled only...

Hard to crank onse running it runs good at a idle


check the fuel filter and pressure regulator.

1990 jeep cherokee lost power


Ignition coil just about to be gone. Replace it before You get more problems. Crank angle sensor will be next.

My 1985 jeep grand wagoneer cuts out and backfires when accelerating. Why?


if some one respond for this issue with this? I have same problem with my 1986 CJ7 jeep. please send me email if you have the solucion I alrady change the pickup coil,ignition switch, Module switch, the coil, I rebuilt the carburator and still doing the same think.
