Question about 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

2 Answers

Steering problem i have a 1995 monte carlo and the car pulls to the right and squels when you turn to the right. the pull isnt real bad unless your turning that direction and it feels very loose like your about to lose control. it turns to the left with no problems, all of the suspension and steering parts seem ok, nothing is broke or bent and the tires are good. the only thing i can think of is that the right side has been knocked way out of align. any help would be great.

I have a 83 monte carlo and I pull my lights on knob and all my lights come on;tail, tag, park, markers, but not my headlights....my turn signal lever( to turn on my brights) if I pull it the normal...

Don't waste your time looking for a headlamp relay. You will not find one. 1983 Monte Carlo does not use a headlamp relay. Your problem is most likely a defective headlamp dimmer switch. It is located about halfway down the upper left side of the steering column. It is secured by the same screws that mount the ignition switch. It is activated by a metal rod that pushes down on it when you pull back on your turn signal lever. It looks like the picture below.

How do I remove the steering wheel trim and replace the turn signal switch on a 1998 monte carlo z34?

If this critter has an airbag in the steering wheel, and I'll bet it does; then you should have this done by a dealer. Pulling the wheel off and replacing the multifunction switch underneath needs to be tended to by a trained person.

No turn signals or hazards???

Check the FLASHER unit; the turn signal flasher is mounted in a clip on the right side of the steering column support bracket. The hazard flasher is located in the component center, under the instrument panel, on the right side. Replace the flasher by unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one.

Hazard flasher -->> The Flasher is located: Front seating area, passenger side, under dash, below glove compartment, mounted in fuse panel

Turn signal -->> The Flasher is located: Front seating area, driver side, under dash, mounted on passenger side of steering column

Good luck (remember comment and rated this).

with the key turn slightly to on and the pull out,to replace just reverse the order.
you need a wheel puller and a gm steering plate removal tool.

1995 monte carlo wont turn over

Pull off the fan belt and see if it turns over. the alternator or water pump may have seized up and that is what is preventing the engine from turning over. if it starts don't run it, shut it off and spin the pulleys on the fromt of the engine to see if they all turn free. Mike

Ignition switch replacement 1983 monte carlo

you have to take off the steering wheel.if you dont have the right tools to do so i would not attempt it.the turn signal switch has to be moved it just pulls over the end of the column.then there is a torx head screw at about 1 oclock in the column that has to be removed.and the ign.just pulls out.the dimmer switch is kinda tricky.a locksmith usually dont charge to much to do this job.it would probably cost you more to buy the tools you need to do it yourself
