placed a new battery...started 3-4 times for a few seconds then died (2004 Durango 5.7) ..all lights & acc work,,both keys (keyless FOB entry) do not work..engine doesn't even crank...I can lock doors manualy, when I open with the key, lights front/back flash and horn sounds,,engine in kill mode ..alarm fails to reset..I have to disconect the battery cable to reset ...towed the worthless Durango to the dealer (Fiesta Dodge) they want $400 for new remote alarm module and reprogramming the keys .what a freaking scam...plus they claim car may have other problems..

with Dodge getting hit the hardest in lost sales this year ..-32 per cent

they are ripping people off with their monoplizing predatory scams to supplement themselves.

Dodge has a big scam going on with their cars,,their alarm systems and other electronics that can only be serviced by them and their expensive labor and product repair fees...

I have a 99 dodge durango stopped working recently it wont start I put in a new starter, checked the battery it was fine changed some fuses.

I was told it could be the fuse box or wireing but I'm a student and I cant afford to repaire it I might just sell it on ebay.

Sure sound like a dead battery or bad connection at the battery. when you replace a starter you disconnect the battery . and maybe they put the cable back on and forgot to tighten it. it might have started a couple of times and then nothing at all. good luck

My 2002 Expedition lights, radio, and horn blows but will not start or boost???

THIS ALL DEPENDS ARE YOU GETTING A RAPID CLICKING NOISE OR JUST ONE CLICK WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY OR TOTALLY NOTHING AT ALL MOST LIKELY THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX CABLE CONNECTOR IS DIRTY OR CORRODED AND NEEDS TO BE CLEANED IT ALSO COULD BE YOUR BATTERY CABLES EVENTHOUGH THERE'S POWER AND THE HORN AND LIGHTS WORK THERE MIGHT NOT BE ENOUGH VOLTAGE FOR THE STARTER TO (A)CRANK (B) THE STARTER ITSELF CAN BE GONE BUT IT'S BEST TO TRY THE THINGS I'VE LISTED FIRST ELECTRICAL CLEANING ALL CONNECTORS RELATED TO THE BATTERY STARTER AND POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX THEN LET THE BATTERY CHARGE UP HOOKED UP FOR 15 MINUTES DO NOT TURN THE KEY JUST LET IT TAKE THE POWER THEN UN HOOK THE CABLES AND TRY TO START IT THIS IS BECAUSE YOU WILL BLOW OUT THE ALTENATORS IN BOTH CARS EVEN IF THERE'S A FRAME GROUND FROM TO MUCH RACING THE ENGINE IF THE GROUND SHOULD COME LOOSE /OLD CABLES NOW THERE'S GOING TO BE TO CARS BROKE DOWN INSTEAD OF ONE GOOD LUCK STEPHEN

My 2009 Pontiac torrent will not start after it sits for 2 days! So we bought a new Battery and it still does the same thing after it sits for 2 days

When you say it doesn't start, does that mean the engine cranks when you turn the key but won't fire, or absolutely nothing happens when you turn the key on? Does anything electrical work; headlights, horn, dash lights, radio?

Wont start, clicking and all dash lights on. relpaced starter no go.

check the starter and ignition fuse. starter fuse is located in the fuse box in your engine bay, ignition fuse is located in the kick panel which is right under your steering wheel.

2001 aurora won't start at all. Hook batery up horn horn sounds and doesn't stop head lights stay on but nothing happens when the key is inthe ingition. No clicking or anything at all. alarm on...

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

My 2004 Toyota Matrix will not start, when I turn onver the ignisiton key, nothing happens. The light turns on, radio plays, horn ok and battery voltage is 12,6 volts DC

Do you hear a slight click coming from the engine area??? If not your starter selenoid is bad, and needs replacement. If you do hear a click but the engine is having trouble or slow very slow time turning, then it's your battery. If you hear your starter click, but no turn, then its your starter not turning over. If your instrument lights dim out by alot when trying to turn, then it still your battery which is drain. The battery doesn't completly need to be drain in order for your horn, lights to not work, It could be your battery simply drain and doesn't have enough cranking power to roll over the starter. But in this case issue description, It sounds like it is the starter. Could take it out and bring it to autozone and have them test it out.

My 2001 Kia Sephia suddenly won't start.

even if your starter is out it would still click when you tried starting the car. so try replacing your battery first thats the most common problem for random starting. also look under the car you may need to jack it up. look under the intake manifold that is where the starter is check to see that everything is hooked correctly and that all the bolts are tightend securley and not loose on one side.

I have a starting problem problem with my 2006 dodge durango. this problem does not happen at all attempts to start but when it happens i get a clicking sound and have toget the truck boost started. i had...

It sounds like your starter solenoid (relay) is failing. The clicking is a classic symptom. It's time to have it replaced.

A starter solenoid (or starter relay) is the part of an automobile which relays a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion .In many vehicles the solenoid also engages the starter pinion with the ring gear of the engine.

The starter solenoid receives a large electric current from the car battery and a small electric current from the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent to the starter solenoid. This causes the starter solenoid to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current to the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion. The starter motor is an electric motor that initiates piston motion in a car's internal combustion engine before it can power itself.

Fuel injector

most likely its not the fuel injectors, if you here a noise when you attempt to start the car it may be the starter trying to start the engine, if this is the case it is most likely a fuel rail issue or fuel pump the intrepid has always had a poor quality fuel pump which is in tank. if you dont here anything and your horn works and lights and radio then your starter or starter relay or stater solenoid may need to be replaced. if nothing inside works like horn or radio the there may be a ground-strap broken or your battery is dead or the battery cables went bad or broke.
