The evaporator is located in the air plenium, under the passenger side dashboard-not an easy location to get to for a fix. it is in the same area as the heater core, directly above the passenger's feet.

The evaporator is located in the heater box, it is the AC's equivalent of a heater core. Water is a NORMAL by product of refrigeration, and the clear water must leak out to the ground.

If it leaks after running the air conditioner it is perfectly normal and you do not need to fix anything, it is from the condensation drain line and it needs to drain to prevent water from leaking inside the vehicle.

Slight coolant leak under car, passenger side. No leaks in engine compartment.

If it's water that's normal what you are seeing is condensate draining from the evaporator coil. Remember the cooler the air the less water it can hold so it needs to be drained

Dirver side power seat not working?

I've got a 2005 Passat GLX (bought it new); took it in for an oil change, and the mechanic also cleaned my cabin filter. I leave his shop and I realize I don't have power seats no more on the driver's side (passenger side fine)....neither backward/forward or up and down, (separate motors, I believe)....Coincidence????? I don't know-never had any problems before. The car has 65,000 original miles.

The guy checked the fuses on the dashboard driver side, near door....seemed alright. They were closing so he told me to come back Monday....I'm thinking of taking it back to dealer (I lost trust in this guy).

Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong???

What's your problem?rear axle seal left side leaking

I don't know how much stuff costs - I do the work myself to avoid having to pay people to do it for me. I'd guess you'd probably get charged at least two hours for axle seals at ~$90/hour at a dealership... I wouldn't bother doing both sides but you can if you want (will probably add another 30min to an hour to the job). Totally guessing but I'd put the bill at around $450 from a dealership, and maybe $350 from an independent shop. Call around and see.

I was told his morning that my 2006 Ford Fusion A/C has a leaking evaporator core. Cost to replace about $1,100. My next move is to check the warranty but if that fails what do you think my next move...

Hi!

Please get a second opinion. It's very unlikely that evaporator itself is leaking. Usualy the leaks occur in joints between pipes.

Hope it helped.

Hello, I have a 1997 mustang and the fuse box cover is missing under the dash......I need to replace the cig. lighter fuse and don't know which one.Thx Ross

Hi, that fuse is under the hood. You can see diagrams of both panels in the owner's manual. Get a free download here if you don't have one:

Does a 1997 grand gt 3.1 liter have rack & pinion steering? I'm told the power steering went out and I don't know if it might be the pump or what.

Your car does have rack and pinion steering. If all of the fluid leaked out somewhere and you continued to drive, you probably have 2 problems to repair:

1. What ever started leaking (return hose, rack, pressure hose, or could just be the pump itself)
2. Power steering pump was damaged from lack of lubrication (fluid)

Both headlights out on 1997 Jeep Wrangler. Don't see a fuse in the box in the dashboard indicating headlamps. Looked in the engine compartment, but don't know which fuse to check.

There is a fuse box under the hood on the passenger side remove the cover and the #10 fuse is for the headlamps. Look on under side of cover for fuse #s.

My 1997 ford expedtion is leaking water on the passerger side.. I can't find the leak.. when i turn my a/c on i smell the radiator and fogs up my windows when the heater is on. is my heater core bad? or a...

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like you have 2 problems First the water on the passeger side, it:"s most like luy a clogged drain for the A/C evaporator under the dash board, Check the drain hose on the firewal, just opposite the glove box, also if you can look under the dash on the pass. side and check the drain hose on the evaporatror. 2nd problem sounds like a bad heater core. Have your local shop check both these items for you
