Tip & How-To about Toyota Camry Solara

How to replace a headlight on a 1999 Toyota Camry

If you are changing the bulbs, lift the hood, unplug the back of the light (there's a huge plug lookin' thing) usually requires a screwdriver because there's a point you need to depress to get the plug to release...pull the back of the headlight cover off (screwdriver depressed plastic points or tiny screws depending on the model)...pull out the old bulb and put the new one in.

If you are replacing the entire assembley, unplug it and pull the whole thing out (involving screws or depressed plastic points...use a flathead screwdriver on those) and replace. It's really quite painless.

Good luck!

replacing high brake light bulb 2003 blazer

It's mounted up on the roof and held on with a screw on each end. There's a sticky gasket under it to keep the moisture out. Remove the two screws (usually phillips head, but sometimes torx 20 or 25) and persuade it come (peel essentially) off. Pull it out slowly to reveal the plug and unplug it. It's an LED strip so the whole thing will have to be replaced. Easily located on a popular auction based web site for about $50.

How do you change a headlight on a 2001 oldsmobile silhouette??

I don't know if you mean the headlight bulb, or the headlight.

When you open the hood and look at the headlight assembly. At the top between the turn signal there is a black plastic wing nut. Unscrew that wing nut to remove the side marker light. After removing that nut persuade it to slide forward. That's the only thing that locks it in. Untwist the socket to replace the turn signal bulb. Since that is out now...There are two more Wing nuts just like the first one that hold the headlight assembly in place. (The black plastic piece the headlight is mounted to) Remove these two wing nuts and lift up on the whole assembly. Those are the only things that lock it into place. Once you slide it off the studs the wing nuts were on. Unplug the plug from the back of the light (use a flat screwdriver to lift the tab a little). Twist the round plastic ring that holds the bulb in. The bulb should pull out now. Don't touch the new bulb with your fingers as it is a halogen bulb and the oil on your fingers will cause a hot spot on it, causing it to fail SOON. If you happen to touch the glass part of the headlight bulb, clean it with rubbing alcohol. Reverse the steps...go eat dinner.

change lens cover1998 grand caravan

There's really no way to change a lens cover on a headlamp or tail light on that vehicle. You'll have to change the whole light/housing. For the tail light, open the hatch and remove the two screws. Depending on weather you buy new or used, you may have to replace the board on the back. For the headlight, open the hood. There are two 10mm bolts on the top and two that come straight in from the back. On the driver's side it might be easier to take out the battery. Be careful though, these bolts have a tendency to break easily. Unplug the bulbs. If you remove the bulbs, be careful not to touch the glass on the headlights as these are usually halogen bulbs. The oil on your fingers will create a "hot spot" causing the bulbs to fail soon.

replace front driver signal light bulb

Depending on whether it is the front or the back turn indicator light will determine on what needs to be done. If it is the front turn indicator light open the hood of the car you may need to take the entire headlight out. The headlight may have screws, take the screws out then the front light will come out from the outside of the vehicle replace the burned out bulb. The bulb should snap right in and then put the headlight back in make sure you put all screws back in from the inside of the hood. Step2 If it is the back turn indicator light, go through the trunk of the vehicle. If there is a panel covering the lights you must unscrew the panel and then replace the burned out light bulb. Some panels can be folded down without removing all of the screws to access the lights. This light may not require for you to pop the entire light out you maybe able to just replace the bulb. After you have replaced it screw the panel back into place. The back light should not require the entire light to be lifted out just a simple bulb replacement. Step3 In replacing either the front or the back indicator light you must gain access to the turn signal housing which is usually in the same case as the headlight or your rear lights. It is very helpful to also get the owners manual out this will tell you exactly what type of bulbs you will need to get to replace the indicator bulb.
