Hiy, I have just purchased a 1999 Kia sportage off a private seller and the air conditioning on the passengers side is extremely noisy. Do i need to get this looked at or is it just because its an old car?

Check the seal on the windshield. If it is not properly sealed it will allow water to get into your blower motor which will make it very noisy. Look everything over and see if you can see where water might be getting in. Seal it up with an automotive grade silicone. Remove the blower motor and oil it up really good. If that does not work get on ebay and order a replacement.

Windsheild fluid runs out of the resivor

Most washer bottles have the pump assembly mounted directly in the bottom of the bottle and after several years the seal on the shaft between the pump impeller and the motor can become worn and hard and start to leak. Also the tube on the outlet of the pump could be loose or has become disconnected allowing any fluid to run out. To check, remove washer bottle from vehicle (you may have to remove other components to access the attaching bolts) and check security of outlet tube. If split or loose cut a bit off the end and re attch to outlet. If the seal on the pump shaft has been leaking and allowing water into the motor, there will be some corrosion on the inside and minimal lubrication on the bearings. You could try dismantling the pump and applying some water resistant grease to the shaft seal and bearings, but it would only be a temporary fix. Best option for this fault would be to replace the pump motor assembly.

Driver window quit working after car wash

It appears that the electric motor that operates the windows has become faulty after letting in water after the car wash. The motors are sealed with a gasket, but can some times let in enouh water over time to cause corrosion an prevent operation. To access the window mechaism and motor you will have to remove the interior door trim an then undo the necessary bolts to remove the window mechaism. Removing the end bell of the motor and alowing to dry and removing any corosion should get it working again if the motor has not been burnt out.

Quite often in older vehicles the electric window motor seals allow water into the motor which prvents them from working. If the water has been in for long enough corrosion will cause the motor to seize. Removing the interior door trim will give you access to the window regulator which can then be removed. Can be a bit fiddly but not difficult.

My daughter has a 2000 ford focus and she says that she is losing antifreeze in the back of her motor on the drivers side, is that where the water pump is?

The water pump should be on the passenger side with all accessory belt and all the pulleys. There's actually a thermostat housing on the driver's side of the engine. It's most likely that the housing has cracked at the seal. The seal sits in in a groove in the housing. The plastic housing is about 1mm thick at the seal and is known to break

Water drips from heater motor during rain. how to stop this? 2005 dakota

Most likely your windscreen is leaking and the water is tracking past the heater motor. The solution is to have the windscreen removed and resealed. Removing the windscreen without cracking it is difficult and most windscreen fitters do it at your risk so be prepared for a new windscreen. In case the water is tracking via a door seal you could tape around the winscreen and try a hose test to pinpoint the problem.
