Question about 2006 Hyundai Elantra

Engine Starting to get hot and A/C compressor isnt spinning

I noticed that the a/c was running and the engine temp was fine. I then noticed the a/c compressor wasnt turning and the engine temp was rising. Could it be coolant or the thermostat.

Hi if the engine temp is normall check to see if theres a 12v supply at the commpressior when the ignition is on and the a/c is on as this operates the compressiors clutch if you mean the pulley that on the compressior is not turning the compressior is seized and the belt dragging causing the engine to overheat due to the extra load its trying to rotate yates210456

2000 caddy Seville ...after starting and engine warm turn on the heater and it blows cold air. Fan works / waiting for hot air and then all the sudden it kicks in. Engine at normal temp

Low coolant, if there is an air pocket in the engine it will make it to the heater core. Once there , the air coming out is cold/cool. Once the coolant fills the heater core, it gets hot. If the coolant is fine hot or cold, then have the HVAC system scanned.

How long for the ac fan to start working? Ive noticed that the fan does not work when i turn the ac on, can this cause my car to overheat. I check the temp and coolant liquid both seems fine.

the ac fan starts as soon as the ac is switched on
the fan is provide cooling of the condenser before the radiator to prevent high head pressures in the ac compressor
it is the fan at the front of the car mand does not affect engine temp
there is a radiator fan between the engine and the radiator that will not start until the coolant temperature reaches a set temp at which point the ECM switches that fan on
if that fan is not working when the engine is hot , check for fan, coolant temperature sensor switch , fan relay, fuses or problem ECM

Why won't the AC work after the engine warms sp?

You'll need someone to check the electrical circuits to make sure the compressor is working and then check the blend door to make sure the heater is not on.
If the compressor stops running it could be the compressor clutch or a relay.

2005 acura rl running hot

Yes both fans should be on if the ac is on and the engine is at operating temp. A mechanic would check the fan relay for operation.

Did anyone check the freon pressure?A leak will cause no cold air easily within a week of recharging. What is the 14 reading on the compressor,voltage?200-210 sounds a little high, but with the cooling system having mostly antifreeze rather than water,it could probably go up to about 240 or 250 before antifreeze overheats, unlike water boiling at 212.If you didn't replace the thermostat, you should at least try that first. You're car is only 5 years old but I don't know the mileage you have. Also,in most cases(probably 90% or higher),the check engine light really is quite useless, unless you are experiencing problems, which in your case it is.So,for now,let me know if you changed thermostat, and if they checked the system pressure. Are you in FL or TX?I am in FL.Many people post that their check engine light comes on,but there are no car problems listed, they run the computer test($90+),and it comes back telling them something is bad. Many people have spent $1,000 or more trying to get it to go out and it doesn't work. Then they come here.I have read forums where people suggest putting black tape over the light.I would not but that is just an example of how useless the light is since just about anything could cause it to come on.
Good luck! Greg

You have lost some charge in your system. I would have a mechanic top off the charge but also add some refrigerant oil as well. The cool will often slow down at an idle, but should not start to blow warm.

Tempreture gauge drops to cold and car stops

Sounds like faulty engine temp sensor. When it drops to cold, the engine control unit picks this up and alters the fuel mixture accordingly. The ECU will be making it a very rich fuel mixture for cold starting, hence very poor running when engine is hot.
