2004 ford taures needs ac recharge were do i connect new can of coolent

you always connect fitting to low pressure side. the cap has a " L " on it. the fittings with freon only fit the low side connection. follow hoses back from a/c pump and you will find the low pressure fitting. have a good day !

Where do i put the R-134a in on a 2002 volvo s60

On the low pressure valve located between the compressor and accumulator. The low pressure port has a black or blue cap covering the recharge valve. Don't worry, you can't connect the hose to any other valve port but the low side, the hose end is different from the high side. The high side has a red cap, and is not a recharge port.

I want to recharge my AC unit. Not sure where the refrigerant is supposed to go

You connect your refill can or system to the low pressure line. Here is the good news. The fitting on the refill kit will only fit the low pressure line connector. They appear as over sized Air fitting. Both High and Low pressure sides will have plastic caps on them but your coupling will only connect to the low pressure side.

The Low Pressure Side connector will be smaller than the High Pressure Side connector so the refill hose will fit properly only on the Low Pressure Side.

Need to jump compressor on to recharge refrigerant

You should not have to jump compressor to recharge a/c system, when adding freon low pressure switch will kick compr on, if it's not kicking on or it read low freon on your dash, replace both low pressure switch's, both sit along fire wall from left to right on a thin a/c line, when replacing these switch's make sure what ever freon in system is recover.

Hi, my husband and i have a 2006 optima. te ac

Absolutely not!  Never attempt to recharge from the high side. Recharging from the high side is extremely dangerous and could do harm to both you and the car.  If the low side pressure is only 10psi, you are low on refrigerant.  Most cars require 20psi to operate the compressor and should never fill to more than 40-45psi unless recommended by the manufacturer.  I'd re-check the pressure readings.  It's possible that instead of charging the system, while hooking up the hose, you've let freon escape, accounting for the hissing noise and the low pressure reading.  When recharging the AC system, it's important to have the car running and have the AC on high.  It's possible, you didn't have a good connection to the low side which also would account for the escaping refrigerant.  I hope this answers your question.  I'd try to recharge the system again on the low side, making sure the connection is good both at the low side valve and on the can of refrigerant.  Best of luck.

Low Pressure Valve 97 Grand Am

The low pressure valve is down by the AC Compressor. It is part of the aluminum manifold that connects directly to the AC compressor. It is accessible from above, but easier to reach from under the car.

By the way, is there any particular reason why you want to recharge your AC system? If it isn't working, adding refrigerant will not necessarily fix the problem. If the refrigerant has all leaked out, you probably need to evacuate the system first.
