Question about 1995 Pontiac Sunfire

1 Answer

SUN Desktop Hi there, I have a SUN SPARCstation 5 Desktop that was given to me for free last year 2007 and was going to fix it up. And was woundering if you know anything about the SUN desktops. Its a tower that lays flat on the ground and has a CD-ROM Drive on the side, with alot of ports on the back. there are 2 Ethernet ports, 2 Parallel Ports, 1 keyboard port and some other ports. No USB and No VGA nor PS/2, But I looked info about about the top port and can buy a Adapter of a VGA to plug into it. I can send picture if you want. I don't know its Processor but its year it says on it is 12/1997 so maybe a Pentium I or close to a II.

Do you know anything about the Desktop Hard Drive? Like im looking for a adapter for it. Its very common to the Laptop Hard Drive but have to plug the Power cable on the side. I talked to a guy on ebay that is selling a SUN and he said it is mostly common to Apple Mac computers and told me the PS/2 port is on the keyboard, So I guess thats why there is no PS/2 on back. But the hard Drive adapter im looking for needs to have the pin type end that turns into the kinda like the Nintendo game cartrage end where up push the cartrage into. That is want the hard Drive end looks like on this. It has a place for 2 Hard Drive, and I think the type of hard drive that goes with it a SCSI.

But just wanted to know if they make a HDD Adapter for it. Thanks...

Pat,

I really don't deal with desk tops at all, I have a guy that I contract all desk tops out to. I can ask him, but the Sun model isn't very common. Let me know what you want to do, any probs and all, I'll ask him, and get back to you. It might take a week or so, the guy is actually a former computer tech that is now a truck driver, and it will a few days with anything that I call him for. It's an interesting story on his computer skills if you're up for it.

    Sorry Pat,

I've got no answers on this one. Talked to my guy, and he said he's never dealt with these.

2007 camry sun visor broke. Is any recall for that?

I have a 2007 camry and my driver side visor keeps coming down in my face while driving. I contacted Toyota and they told me that there was no recall. I said that is a very bad safety hazard. Toyota told me that to have it fixed it will cost me $130.00. I work in a automotive parts factory and when we get calls on bad parts that we have manufactuer we replace them. And the parts are for Toyota but the are not the visors. COME ON TOYOTA YOU CAN RECALL THESE BROKEN VISORS!!!!!

Used Mercedes Benz GL450 2007

over 80% of mercedes ever made are still on the road in use, only volvo can beat this fact with over 90%.
keep it serviced at 10k intervals, and it should last 30 plus years.
bodywork is galvanised,so look after paintwork(1 dent/scratch will knock over $1000 off the price...)only buy if full leather and keep it fed.

BOTH driver's and passenger's side sun visors have broken.

You have the right to contact the BAR (the automotive repair policing agency) on innapproriate help from car service shops. Whether or not it is under warranty, does not mean you do not get these fixed. Do your homework. Check ALLDATA for any TSB's (technical service bulletins) on your car and find out if there is one on defective sun visors. If there is no TSB, check again in the future, If enough people complain to Toyota coprporate, then it will become a new TSB and you will get it repaired for free, whetether warrantied or not. In the meantime, you need a "Magiver" mechanic or handyman that can make your sun visors work for the time-being. As for the people who told you the lie about customer loyalty, I would go to the dealer and get that repeated to your face and get the person's name and write to Toyota on your bad experience (CC to the manager of this place too). Good luck.

I've had to have this fixed twice by Kia. It's under warranty, so it's a free, fast fix. They do need to redesign this!!

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata I have the same problem with my 2007 Sonata driver side sun visor broke and will not stay up but keeps droping down in my view....

I have a 2007 Sonata and the driver's side sun visor broke. I called the dealership where I purchased the car, and was told that they only cover it for 5 years/60,000 miles. So if your's is broken, get it in there before the warranty expires. Otherwise the cost is around $80 for the visor unit.

Sun visors

I just fixed this same problem on my 1993 Toyota Camry.

First, I tried velcro, but in the hot weather the glue wouldn't hold to the fabric so the fix only lasted about 6 months.

Just now I gerryrigged a black office paper clip - the big kind with the black clip attached to two big silver metal hands - to the visor and metal arm.

Magic, it's fixed, and for free.
