Question about 1987 Ford F 350
I have a ford f 350 that while driving down the road the engine shuts off and will not start, but i can pour gas in the carbarator and it will run until the gas is gone. it has a fuel pump in the tank i would like to know what sends the power to the fuel pump?
On the pass. side fender is you should find the fuel pump relay. Power goes through it to the inertia (crash) switch on the upper part of the pass. side floor board. From there, the power goes to the fuel pump. At the rear near the fuel pump is the fuel pump ground. It's attached to the inner part of the frame as is sometimes hard to see. Check it as well. I've had truck that drove me crazy and would find a bad ground there. I cleaned up the ground and everything was fine again.
