I can no longer pump gas into tank continuously. The filler backs up and shuts off fuel even when using gas pump manually.

You may have a problem with the fuel tank vent valve. This lets air into the tank as you use fuel and allows air out of the tank as you refill with fuel. If the valve is plugged or stuck shut the fuel nozzle will kick off as you try to refill the tank because the fuel can't get through the fill neck and into the tank as fast as it's being pumped in and will back up high enough to kick the nozzle off. Hope this helps and good luck!

Cranks wont start fuel pump kicks on

check inside distributor for wear or moisture, check fuses, relays, open line from filter towards front see if gas spews out or where fuel line comes to throttle body this is a single point fuel injection motor i believe, if those don't help, check to see if timing is correct..

I can't pump gas correctly.

try not puyying the pump all the way in the fill hole, you need to let some air in when the gas is going in, also dont pull the handle all the way when filling the tank

2006 Ford Escape spews gas from fill pipe during very cold weathe

The little air holes above the gas tank hole don't work very well on these. I've noticed it too. Just hold the pump at a little bit of an angle when this happens which will allow more air to escape your tank.

Gas spewed out my gas tank in my 1991 civic hatchback while running. drove about 100 miles in 80 degree weather and parked idling for about 5 min when i looked over and gas was spewing out tank while gas...

Sounds like your gas cap may not be on right or is faulty ...and is now heat is forcing the fuel out of your gas tank. If removing and reinstalling the gas cap or even replacing it doesnt work, this is just an idea as to what the problem is. This is a very hazardous driving situation. I would NOT let anyone drive this car at the moment. Call a repair shop that has the ability to tow the vehicle. and expect a price tag somehwere in the range of 600-800 dollars to replace a fuel pump plus towing. Leaking fuel at that rate is not to be taken lightly. In anycase,it could be a fault in the fuel vapor canister, fuel lines clogged or damaged or even a faulty gas cap. I just want you to be safe at all costs...and if towing it ensures it...then do it.

Gas tank will not fill gaspump shuts down

First thing to do, (free of charge) is to look up under where filler hose runs to gas tank for any kinks in those hoses.

Check engine light

first change the gas cap. and no,spewing gas doesn't cause this problem. pumping gas with the car running can. you could have a leak in one of the lines, so listen for a air leak before you start spending unnessesary money
