Question about 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

Lights/Door Locks Hi, Having trouble with my lights and the door locks. When i turn the light switch on only the parking lights will turn on and not the headlights. Also with the van door locks it doesn't work. It used to lock itself when we hit about 20 mph.

2002 chevy Blazer 2 door. Power locks, and liftgate stop working. The locks will engage when I shift to drive and will disengage when placed in park. Where do I start?

Hi,
Plz explain...are the locks supposed to lock/unlock when you put the car in Drive/Park, or not?

Does the lock/unlock SWITCH on the DRIVER'S door work/not work? If applicable, does the PASSENGER's door lock switch work?

How can i trace a short in my 1998 mercedes e320

check remote batteries for replacement. they may be dead as for the door locks and trunk. as for the fog light, parking brakes situation a short would make them not work. not stay on. the electrical would be fused for that. a short prevents electric from getting to the load or device. i would not think that fog lights would be linked to parking brakes. did you mean parking brake light? the fog lights should be on a switch by themselves or connected to main headlamps

I am having an issue where my lights keep flashing and my locks keep locking and unlocking themselves with no one near the car.

YOne of your locking switchs is broken and is shorting itself out until it goes out on overload. Same deal with the lights.

You can remove the electric door lock switch to solve 1/2 of your trouble .. the lights. you will have to get help with.

Battery failed and lights flashing?
Parking lights will flash when the vehicle's battery is disconnected and reconnected.
To stop lights from flashing, either:
Press remote transmitter "UNLOCK" button once OR turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and press programming button for one second (see below).
The vehicle interior (courtesy) light and door open warning light (DOOR AJAR indicator) will then illuminate for 60 seconds when the ignition is turned off, or until the doors are locked with the remote transmitter. Yes, the dashboard instrument panel lights will flash when the parking lights flash.

Programming or Overriding the Alarm when you have lost the remote
Open driver's door.
Turn ignition key to 'On'
Press and *hold programming button* in (see diagram, button under dashboard)
After 15 seconds the the door locks will cycle 3 times. Do not release Programming button.
Press lock (left) button the remotes to be programmed. The door locks will cycle one time. Exit programming mode by releasing Programming button under dashboard and turning key to off.

codealarmremote1.jpgCode Alarm Programming Button is under dashboard on the kick panel by the driver's left knee, left of the steering column. If you can't find it, it might still be tucked up in the wiring harness higher up in that same general area. The botton is recessed in a plastic ring (see diagram).
This button must be pressed while programming remotes or if the battery was disconnected and the lights are flashing.

Door locks won't work door ajar light stays on auot lights won't work all fueses check good.

These have lots of problems door ajar switches, which are located on the latch itself. Without access to a scan tool to determin witch one it is you will have to unplug them one at a time to see witch one turns the light out. It is a two wire conecter at the latch, I am having trouble pulling up a wireing diag right now, I will post again later with more detail.
