Question about 1999 Honda Odyssey

1999 Honda Odyssey A/C

After Tropical Storm Fay pummeled my van for two days, the air conditioning is blowing warm air and the control buttons for the a/c system are not operational (not lighting or altering air flow).

I have the same Van and problem.
At first the whole Control Panel =AC/ INSIDE-OUTSIDE AIR BUTTON & ALL THE BUTTONS ABOVE THOSE BUTTONS = (that control what vents the air goes to) - ALL would be ok for a while, then ALL of these controls would all shut down (obviously the AC is ok - the failure is based in this dash control panel) Eventually the all buttons (in sync) started to rapidly blink. Now all the light are "dead".
The most common guest from knowledgeable people I've spoke with say that a pin in a "connector" has become corrupted. Problem is where on the harness to start looking

I have a 1999 Honda Odyssey. The a/c fan control switch suddenly stopped working except on high and then the air is warm. On auto the fan will blow on high if it is set on 60 and again the air is warm. What is broke?

I have a 2001 Honda Odyssey. I only recently bought this. The rear air con vents only blow out cold air, no matter what the temperature it is set to. The dealer I bought from said this was standard, and...

I've have never heard of a "only cold air system", but hey, nothing surprises me anymore. try replacing the control unit in the front. hopefully that will take care of the problem. If not you need to check your blend valve. (headache depending on location)

1999 plymouth grand voyager heater does not blow hot

One of two probable problems:
1. The Heater / Air Condition Control is going bad or is bad.
a. Disconnect the negative side of the battery.
b. Remove the Heater / AC face plate off the front. To do this: Remove the two (2) screws on the top lip of the plate.
c. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the Control Module.
OR
2. The Heater Core is defective and needs to be replaced.
Sorry, but it has to be noted that the dealer or repair shop ($$) can diagnose the system at the Heater / AC Control Module. Also, after you replace this Module: a diagnostic and re-calibration tests are needed to be performed.
Let me know if this helped or if you have additional questions or information. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

My 1999 Honda Odyssey Van has ~ 205000 miles on

I'm surprised a dealership made that mistake. Honda did start making engines to take oil until around 2003. I would go back and have them put the correct oil in the van. 5W-20 is not as thick as 5w-30, so the engine may start to make louder noises down the road. Just stick with 5w-30 for what the engine was made for.

2004 Odyssey, heat and A/C do not work unless van in motion

Since warm air eventually comes out when the vehicle is in motion, you may have an air mix door that is stuck in fresh or is somehow blocking warm air from the heater core.

To see if the air mix control motor is bad, you need to retrieve your Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's) from the heater control panel. To run the diagnostic function, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Turn the fan switch OFF.
3. Press the recirc control button to select Recirc (recirc light on.)
4. Press and hold the recirc button to select Fresh (recirc light off) and continue to hold the button down until the recirc light comes on for two seconds and then goes off.
5. If the system is okay, the recirc light stays off.
6. If there is a problem, the recirc light blinks the DTC to indicate the trouble. One blink=a problem in the air mix control motor circuit. Two blinks=problem in the mode control motor circuit
Three blinks=problem in evaporator temp sensor circuit.
7. Turn the ignition switch off to cancel the self diagnosis function. Run the diagnostic again after repairs are complete.

Note: the air mix control motor has a rod which connects to a plastic link. The link controls the mix doors and also connects to the heater control water valve via a cable. The air mix motor may check okay, but if the link is broken then you will still have problems. the motor is on the bottom of the heater unit in the front passenger's foot well.

Engine was flooded in tropical storm Fay, and will not start. Starter sounds as if it is trying to engage, but it is not. Can the engine be fixed, or is t seized?

you will need to drain all fluids and pull plugs out. if it was not running when flooded you should be able to save. remove plugs and disable fuel/ignition system spin over to blow out the water in cylinders
