i have the same problem with my 06 explorer when i accelerate there is a loud engine fan like noise but once i get past 30 miles/hr it stops but happens again upon acceleration randomly throughout the day. i happen to see where my thermostat indicator when to "H" then back to normal and my theromstat light blinked on then off in 2 seconds...this particular problem has happened 3 times this month. i am wondering if the noise and the theromstat are connected to the problem

happened tonight upon parking on a high incline driveway. Engine reved as if high rpm, no visible coolant in resovior, and coolant check light came on dash.

Same exact problem. What the heck is it? Getting High revving noise and intermittant temp gauge peaks within the first mile of driving. Only 40k miles on the truck!

Strange loud buzzing noise on 1997 Ford Explorer XLT

Only thing that comes to mind with description is maybe heat shield on exhaust, getting loose. Wait until vehicle is cooled off and get under there & check any heat shields you see wrapped around or near exhaust, above it attached to floor of vehicle etc, and give them all a little shake or rap with rubber hammer or similar to see if any rattles are present.

2000 caravan 3.0 stall after 20 min no spark restarts few hours later

This sounds like a bad (probably cracked) ignition coil.

First, the coil gets hot when operating, and this is normal.

If it is cracked, it gets hot to the point where its resistance gets so much higher that it cannot provide enough voltage for spark.

When it cools back down it starts working fine again.
