My 04 rx330 won't start got plenty of power in the battery but when I turn the key I get nothing

There are some things you can do to fix the problem. Check battery connections: Even if the batteries are charged, it is important to make sure the battery cables are clean and tightly connected. Components with loose or damaged wires can interfere with efficient energy transfer. Check fuse relays: Check the vehicle fuse box for any blown fuses or defective relays that could affect the starting system. Transmission Position Sensor: If your vehicle has an automatic transmission, the transmission position sensor (neutral safety switch) may not work properly, preventing the vehicle from starting into gear Start the vehicle in both park and neutral and check that is there any difference. Check for safety system problems: Some cars have safety systems that can shut down the engine if there is a problem. Make sure the security light on the dashboard behaves as it should and try to use a spare key if there is one. Starter Motor: The starter motor may be faulty. Turn the key and listen for the clicking sound. If you hear a rapid clicking noise, it could indicate a faulty battery or a faulty starter motor. Hearing a click once could indicate a problem with the starter solenoid. Ignition switch: The ignition switch sends power to the starter when the key is turned. If faulty, it can prevent the engine from cranking. Try to notice a change when you change the key. Fuel Supply: If the engine cranks but does not start, there may be a fuel issue. Check the fuel level and make sure the fuel pump is working properly. Check engine light: If the check engine light illuminates, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be stored in the vehicle computer.

Why is my fuel pump relay clicking and my truck wont start replaced relay same problem

Maybe the fuel pump is bad? Maybe there's a break in the wire going to the pump? (Less likely) Have someone listen down by the gas tank when you turn the key to the run position. Do not crank the engine. Just turn forward to normal running position and see if your helper can hear the pump run within the first two seconds of turning the key. You're trying to find out if it's a fuel or spark problem.

92 Cavalier Z24 wont start, or crank. BRAND new starter and solenoid, yet my problem persists, no cranking, no sounds of the solenoid.

If there's no 'click' when you turn the key there's a good chance that the starter relay isn't firing. Cheap part and easy to replace.

I replaced the turn signal switch and now it wont start. i can hear the fuel pump kick on. makes no sense

You said you hear the pump come on, then said fuel pump not running ???
Check the fuse for the pump, preferably with a test light to verify power is there. Key must be in on position. If the fuse is powered, feel for the fuel pump relay to click when you turn key to on. Put your finger on it while someone turns key to on. If it clicks, check for power at the tank connector on the pump wire, while the engine is cranked. If power there when cranking, the pump must have failed and needs replacing. If the relay clicked with key on, and no power at the pump wire at tank while cranking, then check wiring from relay to pump connector-the fuel wire may have broken.
If the relay doesn't click when key turned on, check for the power feed for the pump at the relay terminal. If the relay has power available to be transmitted to pump, then the relay's signal from the computer or the ground side of the relay's coil signal (from the computer) may need checked.
If the pump is working, and you have good pressure in the lines, check the injector circuit. Also a fused circuit, so check the fuse first. The injector should have a steady voltage signal to it with key on. The injector only has two wires, the power wire and the ground wire which goes to the computer. When the computer momentarily grounds the injector circuit, the injector "pulses", causing fuel to spray out the bottom.

Got a 98 s10. turn key and all lights come on (security light comes on but shuts off) but nothing. hear click from starter relay. just replaced igniton switch and didnt help. bybass start relay with a...

Try turning the key to the on position (do not start) for about 10 minutes or so! This should reset the security which is probably cutting off the fuel circuit! I know GM had many ignition problems with this!

Have a 1999 ford explorer sport 4x4, cranks want start. have replaced fuel pump, crank senser and cam senser, checked fuzes, replaced computer. doesnt seem to be firing

When you turn the key on you should beable to hear the fuel pump come on. Other than that you have a fuel pressure test port, looks just like a tire valve stem get a little probe press the valve after cranking fuel should come out strongly and not dribble out. If is doesnt seem to be firing your going to have check the coil pack for spark from the coil pack take one plug wire out and put it in a position that as you crank the vehicle you will be able to see spark jump or even hear give it a 1/4 air gap from its connection. If you dont have spark and your timing chain isnt broken you need to check for power the choice of tool is a test light.or volt meter. If you dont have either test tool we will go by sound when you turn the key on the engine fuse box has relays do you hear them click. That click noise will be fuel pump relay and PCM relay for power inpect those relays for corrode connections you mainly have a power problem and inspect for proper ground a missing ground can also cause the ECM to not fire the coils2_26_2012_7_32_43_am.gif

Why it wont start even the battries new??

Does the engine crank/roll over? If not, and you havenew batteries and your hear a click, then it's your starter, the unit need to be replaced in order to work. If the engine roll over/crank but does not start, then it's either eletrical, or fuel. First sit in your car and put the key to "On" not acc position and try to listen if you hear a slight hiss follow by a slight click, thump from the back of your passenger seats. If you do, then the fuelpump is working, and would 97% be your ignition coil which is located inside the distruburator and needs replacement. If you don't hear your fuel pump from the rear passenger area hissing follow by a click, then your fuel relay might be bad, and try to swtich your relay around with another compatible relay. If nothing is heard after so, then your fuel pump is fried, need to replace fuel pump.

What typically is needed to to be done if a 2001 supercrew has had air bags deployed and wont start after that. The switch in the right kicker panel for the fuel pump does not appear to have been tripped....

Good info on the PATS / theft light. Looks to be the PATS / HEC operation is functioning correctly

The Fuel inertia switch only cuts power to the fuel pump, so if tripped, the truck would have a crank no start issue. Do you have a crank no start, or no crank issue.

To reset, just press down on it. To check if the switch is tripped, check for power at the connector to the fuel inertia switch

Engine compartment fuse # 10 ( 20A ) to the fuel pump relay -> Dark Green w/ yellow stripe wire to the fuel inertia switch -> pink w/ black stripe wire to the fuel pump module.
Check the pink w/ black stripe wire to ground with a meter for power, with the key in the run position.

If you turn the key from off to run ( do not start ) you should hear the fuel pump cycle ( hum, then turn off ).

Could be an issue with the fuel pump relay ( my '01 had a crank no start at ~ 35K miles, bad fuel pump relay ). I proved this out ( after a stupid ID10T error in my diagnoses process ) by jumpering the normally open contacts in the fuel pump relay socket, and then installing the trailer tow reverse circuit relay into the fuel pump relay socket ( same full size Ford Relay ).

Jumpering the fuel pump relay in the relay socket ( remove relay and use jumper wire ), red line
sscullys_16.jpg

If you have a no crank issue, could be the DTR ( Digital Transmission Range ) sensor on the driver's side of the trans is out of alignment.

Check the start motor relay ( on the firewall on the passenger side ) for power on the Tan w/ Red stripe wire when the key is in the start position ( this is from the ignition switch through the DTR when in park or neutral to the starter motor relay ).

You can test another route, turn the key to the run position, and apply power to the Tan w/ Red stripe wire on the starter motor relay in the engine compartment on the firewall. BE CAREFUL, the motor should turn over, keep clear of moving parts.

Post back a comment to this problem with the results of the testing.

Thanks

2002 blazer crank but wont start

2 things that you have to check on no starts every time. Spark at spark plug and fuel. Turn key to run position and listen at gas tank for fuel pump to run you should hear a whining noise. This will only happen for 3 to 4 seconds then it will shut off until engine starts. You can turn key off then to run every 3 to 4 to listen for fuel pump. You may hear the relay click off in engine area even if pump does not run. Fuel pump failure is pretty common. If pump is running pull spark plug out or put a spare plug into spark plug wire and have someone crank engine set plug on engine and watch for spark. This will give you a starting point. Hope it helps.
