First off you need to have the coil packs tested because most of the time its not the coils when they go bad they work on and of intermidetly !!!

Last week my car would not start i check all the plugs and 1 and 4 where wet and 2 and 3 where dry i clean them all put back together and started the first time and now its doing the same wont start

Locate the 1-4 cylinders coil pack. Have that coil pack checked at the parts store. If there's only one coil pack for all four cylinders, then have the whole coil pack tested. If the coil pack checks out OK, then have the ignition module tested and replace if necessary. If you don't have a parts store that can test them for you, then give me a response and I can tell you how to check them using a test light and an ohm meter. I hope this information has been helpful and thank you for using Fixya.com.

Turns over but will not fire

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If it turns over but doesn't fire then it can be a faulty coil pack. If the coil pack is faulty it tends not to give current to the plugs. The coil pack is located on the side of the engine. You need to take of the cap where the plugs are attached and once the cap is removed you'll have access to the coil pack. Have it replaced and you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Replaced spark plugs & wires now vehicle has no spark, help has plenty of fuel can smell it when cranking over, also tried to install new crank sensor, help please.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If that's the case then the coil pack can be faulty. If the coil pack is faulty it tends not to give current to the plugs. As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you replace the coil pack. It's located inside the engine at the side where the plug wires are connected. You will need to remove the cap first to gain access to the coil pack.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I am not getting a spark on the plugs and so the car does not start.I fitted a running engine in another body and the trouble started.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Only one thing that can cause the vehicle not to start. It's from a faulty coil pack. If the coil pack is faulty it tends not to give current to the plugs so I strongly suggest that you replace the coil pack. The coil pack is located on the side of the engine where the plug wires are attached. You will need to detach the cap to gain access to the coil pack.

Once you removed the cap you can start removing the coil pack. Once replaced you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

No spark

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If there's no spark then the problem will be on the coil pack. If the coil pack is faulty there will be no current to the plugs. The coil pack will surely need replacement. The coil pack is located on the side of the engine, you will need to take the cap off where the plug wires are connected. Once the cap is removed, remove the coil pack inside the engine and replace it with a new one.

After the replacement you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

How do I change the coil pack in my 2005 ford taurus

Welcome to Fixya.

Here's the procedure how to replace the ignition coil pack of your car.

•1
Understand basic safety procedures. Any time you work on your Ford Focus, you should set the emergency brake and disconnect the negative, or ground, cable from the battery. Some mechanics recommend you isolate the cable to prevent accidental contact, which could spark a connection.
•2
Release the spark plug wires from the Ford Focus ignition coil pack. You may need to pinch or press a release to unlock the wires.
•3
Use a socket set or a small wrench to unbolt the ignition coil connectors. You also need to undo the capacitor electrical connectors. As you work, make note of which connectors go where--this pays off you when you reassemble the parts.
•4
Locate the bracket that holds the ignition coil pack and the electrical capacitor in place. Undo the fasteners that secure them.
•5
Separate the Ford Focus ignition coil pack from the mounting system. Replace the old Focus ignition coil pack with a new one. Verify the new ignition coil pack works with your engine, even if you use a universal ignition coil pack.
•6
Reassemble the parts. If you have a Torque wrench, use it to tighten the ignition coil bolts with 7 inch pounds of torque (10 Nm).

Thank you for using Fixya!

I was driving and it just died,we now found we do not have any spark on driver side, can you tell me what it may be,or what we should try to fit it.it will not turn over.Thank you sherry

No spark. This is indication of faulty spark plugs. But spark plugs get power to spark from coil pack. So get the connection between coil pack to spark plugs checked. If it checked out ok then its faulty spark plugs that has to be replaced, but if coil pack has no power then its faulty coil pack that has to be replaced. But if coil pack and spark plugs both checked out ok then this problem is fuel related problem. In this case the fuel pressure needs to be checked. The fuel pressure can be easily checked at any local car garage. If its low then its faulty fuel pump as well as clogged fuel filter, which has to be replaced. The voltage for spark plugs and coil pack in voltmeter will show 12 volts. Its a 12 volt part.If there is no or low volt then there is problem with the part. ------------------ Keep updated with any more queries.Thanks.

Hello there:
the coil pack should be located on the engine to find the location chase one of the plug wires back you should be able to see a square or rectangular box that has all you're plug wires on it to remove it you will need to remove the two small retaining bolts and it should lift out but too insure that the coil pack is bad go to you're local parts house and get a spark tester to insure that you have a good spark at all plugs coming from the coil pack... hope this helps you out thanks
