I have a 92 Honda Accord. It will not start until I wait for the check engine light to go off after turning the key. Once I start driving the car it starts to sputter at high rpms (3000+) in any gear. I avoid this by shifting sooner and generally driving less aggresively. I have already replaced the cap / rotor / plugs. I recently replaced Ignition Control Module (I think thats what it was called -inside the distributor) after reading that it was the cause of my car not starting after I would drive somewhere turn it off to run into a store and when I came out it wouldn't start. The replaced ICM(?) seemed to solve that issue. I read on another post that my sputtering problem means the computer needs replaced. I don't know where the computer is or if that is something I can do myself. Please help. Thanks

Is the wiring good going to the O2 sensors? Maybe just look the car over and see if you have any bad grounds. They can do weird things. Could be a bad ICU.

Intermittent hesitation at about 2200 - 2500 RPM , power loss, like a dirty fuel filter - pickup screen, tackometer ticking 100-200 rpm at a steady speed. Truck has a manual trans.

sounds like a bad fuel pump or fualty aftermarket pump/also i would check the fuel pressure regulator, and for any fuel leaks. if you disconect vacuum line from regulator and check to make sure fuel is not coming out of regulator and vacuum line is good if engine stays running most likely the fuel pump.

Your catylatic converter may be clogged if your loosing power or top speed is less than it was. You can check this when its running with a battery operated infared heat gauge. the temperature of the muffler should be around the same temp. as the catylatic converter.

sound like throttle position sensor.have it check out.also check air duct connected to mass air flow sensor and throttle body.if air duct is loose or off.it will cause severe hesitation.

Loss of Power at Freeway Speeds

Sounds like itr is not getting enough fuel. Try or check the fuel filter for dirt or water, and also check the fuel pump pressure to see if it meet factory specs.
