i was called to a job, fault:- no dash operation...

found blown instrument fuse,, has short on cicuit, removed alternator field wires, short went away, have 4ohms accross field connections, have no positive feed to fields with new fuse fitted but dash operates.. have been told voltage regulator is in pcm, i dont think the fault is in the alternator as the fields test ok... i wonder if it has pcm fault.. can a remote v/reg be fitted to overcome fault or will this put a fault code into pcm??? hope this helps, thanks

Taking a while to go into gear

Check the fluid level of the transmission. The model number in your vehicle is the A500,also designated the 42RE.With this trans, the fluid level is checked with the trans in Neutral, and the parking brake set, with the vehicle on level ground. If it is low on fluid, then there is a leak that must be located, and repaired.
