None of this have anything to do with cold start . If plugged fuel filter it would be a problem hot or cold , IAC problem would cause an erratic idle . You need to have your vehicle hooked up to a scan tool that reads sensor data ! A engine coolant temp sensor could be a problem , mass air flow sensor , Solving Cold Start Problems 1999 GMC Jimmy EricTheCarGuy Doesn't matter this is a chevy an you have a kia , internal combustion engine all run on same principle, so rather then just replacing parts take it an have it diagnosed .
To change the fuel filter on your 1999 Kia Sportage, look under the oil filter in the engine compartment and then pinch the clips on both sides of the fuel lines at the filter. Now, push them toward the filter and then remove the lines and clamp.
I have the same problem on my kia sportage 1996, I already change the fuel filter, spark plug, bought a new excel 2sm batt. but still no start. I am suspecting maybe a fuel pump fuse or fuel pump itself... Mr. czar1120, if you find solution, pls tell me...
put a air line onto fuel line and blow it back to tank change your inline filter and rebleed the system if it still wont go check your fuel pump hope this helps
I have 2005 Kia Sportage with a check engine light. No other symptoms. I was told by Kia and Local mechanic that it is the fuel injectors. Error Code states that Fuel injectors are running lean. Put Master airflow- no change. Ran engine test with propane to run rich and trim never changed from 15. Car runs great. Kia dealer said that this is because we use Ethel in gas that it effects the alumium fuel rail delivery to the injectors and that it is necessary to change all of them .Kia Dealer wants $1,000.00 deposit to place order 6 fuel injectors from Kia. (Has anyone heard of that?)Also put fuel injector cleaner in tank.Does anyone have any suggestions before I spend over $1,000.00 to replace all 6 injectors or possible idea of what could be wrong?
