Just to be clear, your maintenance light has illuminated and not the check engine light (CEL) . a CEL indicates that the car has detected a problem of some kind and depending on the severity of the fault it may be harmful to continue driving.

If it is the maintence light then that is easy. It is automatically set to come on at predetermined mileage marks to remind you to have the car serviced.

The maintenance required light is a reminder to bring the car in for scheduled maintenance (every 10,000 miles). The light will flash after start up for 10 seconds once you are 2000 miles from the car's scheduled maintenance. Once you pass the scheduled maintencance mark (every 10,000 miles) without having the maintenanced performed and/or the light reset by the dealer, it will remain on forever unless reset.

To reset it yourself

Hold down the trip meter button, turn the car to on, wait about 20 seconds, start the car, and let go of the button. Light is reset until the next mileage interval.

*make sure lo beam headlights are turned OFF during the procedure*

Honda civic hatchback si it has power till turns the key

It sounds like you have a loose connection at the battery, the door chime and ecm lights don't require much power. As soon as you turn on the key, more power is required, with a bad connection the power from the battery, will drop off. My guess either bad connection at the battery or a battery with a dead cell. Hope this helps.

I have a 1990 honda civic hatchback si with an 89 ZC DOHC black top engine.. the rear motor mount is cracked and each time i down shift the engine raddles.. how do i change out the mount? and if possible.....

You will need something to lift the engine so that you can take the pressure off of the mount. It sounds like your fuel pump may be wearing out and it is not responding like it should...The pump on the gas tank should be located on the top of the tank....Under the back seat....

Change the headlight assembly on a 91 honda civic si hatchback

I don't believe you do. You may have to take several of the clips or screws out, that also help to hold the bumper cover on , but that should be it

Have the car checked for the fault codes. I suspect it's your oxygen sensor.
