Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Turns over but will not start

So I left my Grand sitting for a couple months and when I went to start it the battery was dead. Recharged the batttery (only a year old) and now it tries to turn over but will not start. Started and ran perfectly before it sat. Any suggestions?

no I haven't checked fuel yet, but did replace the plugs. They needed it, but still nothing. What is the best way to check fuel pump? Thanks!

Have you checked for spark and fuel pressure? the fuel pump may have stuck after sitting. Let me know.

There is a shradder vavle on the fuel rail that the injectors are connected to, you will need to buy a test guage kit, they are about $20-50. Changing the spark plugs is not checking for spark, pull a plug wire at the plug put a screw driver with a well insulated handle in the hole, hold it close (1/4") to a bare metal spot on engine, then have someone crank the engine, you should hear and see the spark jump to ground

2003 Aurora, left key on and battery went dead. Recharged battery. Won't start. Turn key to on, security light out and check engine light on. Move key to start and nothing, back to on, one minut

Very interesting site here.. regarding your problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/
Another thought.. even though you charged the battery, it's not at all uncommon for a car battery to be very damaged by fully discharging. Especially if not new-ish. One or more cells in it may be bad causing the overall voltage to be under normal. This alone can cause the problem you have. I would try jumping it with another car or test the battery to see if it's got at least 12.7 to 12.9 volts when sitting doing nothing. Good luck.

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 4 month old battery.A couple of the power door locks quit working a while back and my husband went out a couple of days ago and sprayed them with WD 40 but they...

check the voltage on the battery with a volt meter, it should be around 12.6 to 13 volts, if not charge battery with a charger, after charge try to start vehicle, if the vehicle starts use your volt meter at the battery again, the voltage should be around 14 to 14.5 any lower and the battery isn't being charged and the alternator should be checked and or replaced to solve the problem..

Battery was dead charged it up and tryed to start car but starter doesn't ingage but everything else works good was starting good before the battery went dead from sitting for a couple of months

More then likely you have a bad battery, if you feel battery is charge up, turn your head light's on , try to start car, if your head light go dim your battery needs to be replace it has bad cell's.Hope this was helpful.
