What type of tranny to you have stand or atuo? Have you check you tranny oil? When was the last time you had a tranny oil and filter change? Do you get power when the revs come low? Let me know then I can try and steer you to the problem.

Have you tested the fuel pressure, sounds like a plugged fuel filter if the engine runs smooth and does not mis-fire.

What would cause my 2002 hyundai santa fe v6 to take off slow

If it seems to lack power on takeoff, but does not idle rough, cough or splutter, or stall, I'd suspect your low gear shift solenoid has failed in the tranny. This causes the trans to be unable to find low gear. Get a readout of trouble codes as there should be one to assist in finding the cause.

My car is slow in starting making white smoke when fires up smells a bit fuel y.it is also low in power when driving under 2500 revs.any ideas to this problem not believe to be maf or air sensor

White smoke is usually a sign that there is a problem with the cooling system. Blue smoke is fuel related.
Have the cooling system checked at a guess I would say this is water leaking into the cylinders which indicates a cylinder head gasket fault. A faulty cylinder head gasket would also cause slight loss of compression which could explain the loss of power. remove the oil filler cap on the engine if there is a sign of a light brown (cream) coloured substance (water contaminated oil) on the cap or in the cover then the head gasket needs replacing also check the dipstick.
Hope this helps.

99 Mazda Premacy automatic difficult to start and idles very rough (max 500/600rpm). Also brake pedal goes "hard" when at low revs (like braking unboosted) but returns to normal whilst driving or under...

industry standards for compression is no more than 10% between cylinders which makes the 90 lb/sq" should be 117 at worst.. If the head job was done properly then a replacement engine is indicated as there is a ring problem in the low cylinder. Rough idle is an indication of a vacuum leak and if the brake booster is not assisting I would be looking at a leaking hose connection between the manifold and the booster Idle rpm is around 900 for a mazda. Check for faulty pc valve allowing excessive air from the sump and not shutting off correctly.

Hi guys! Own a golf 1.4 carb! 2004, I'm having problems with idel! Heavy on fuel and my compression is low now, I've changed my base plate, set the co,z on my car but still can't seem to get it...

Does exhaust smell like petrol - low on power? If so it's running on 3 or 2 legs, meaning ignition in one of the cylinders is not burning fuel. This causes irregular idle and high fuel consumption.

Low compression might indicate a leaking head gasket, worn cylinder rings. Remove the oil dipstick and check if there's pressure coming from the sump. This indicates worn cylinder rings - loss of compression.

No power under acceleration

Hello,
It would appear from your description that maybe your oxygen sensor is playing up or the Catalytic converter is possibly up for renewal?
Hope this points you in the right direction,

My ford focus engine light on dash flashes and engine coughs and splutters and has no power and sounds if it is misfiring

Have a code test run to ind out which cylinder is the problem, then check the plug wire boot at the spark plug to that cylinder, I think you will find it is burned through and shorting the plug wire to the cylinder head.
