Re: Replacing Passenger Side Door Moulding
First are you talking about the weather stripping that goes around were the door close into? If this is it, just pull off the old one clean the area good, brake clean works very well. then put the new one in place I recommend some contact cerment here and there to keep it in place so its not flopping all over you. If this is not the black strip please let me know which piece it is.

ill open mine now.
i have no idea at all where hands are touching/? photos?
is this body trim or door trim.
chapter 9 covers this. in the book.
but ive no idea what exact part you are touching.
are is this the seals, or plastic part?
post a photo with finger pointing....
doors or windows doors the seals go under trim that must be removed most just snap in place some use screws remove and replace weather strip . door seals they seat around the top in a grove on either side and inserts along the sides and bottom. door window seals out side remove door panel remove mirror pull up remove moulding inside just pull up strip and replace.
You would need a small screw driver and a foot rule or a metal strip about an inch wide and a foot long.
Now, with the screw driver you must remove the plastic moulding that is there on the outer side of the drivers door glass. Just put the screw driver head in the gap between the moulding and the door frame and push upwards. Do it at a number of places and the moulding will come out.
After that you must insert the foot rule between the glass pane and the gap in the door over the place where the key hole is directly below it. Push the foot rule down so that you hear a click sound. If you hear it you will notice the door lock has opened.
Now replace the moulding by placing it where it was and pressing it downwards till the whole moulding is in its place.
Sounds like the blend door actuator. It separates the driver and passenger side from getting air on the AZC system. Here are some instructions on replacing it: The passenger side blend door actuator is used on all models equipped
with Automatic Zone Control (AZC). This actuator is located on the
front of the HVAC housing to the right of the floor panel transmission
tunnel and cannot be removed from the passenger compartment without
instrument panel or HVAC housing removal.
NOTE: This procedure is for AZC Systems (Passenger side only).
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
IN most commercial auto storesd they sell a molding spray glue that is OK at best but most body shops have the GOOD STUFF GOOP for rubber molding this is good stuff ask for a little for personal use they may give you the end of a tube of GOOP
replace the ac blower fan, located under the compartment. I bought mine for $40 at ebay and its brand new. You will have to remove the moulding under the passenger front door and the compartment cover to get to the fan.
You may need to go to the dealer or a salvage yard to get the strip. It is bolted on with 3 or 4, 10 mm nuts inside the door panel and at the front and rear of the door panel. It should take you about an hour to do the repair yourself. Mike
