-   the brake padle is going to the floor, and there is a light in the dash with a car shape, the rear end of it is lit and reads "brake" it is not the usual "hand brake on light" but a different one.
I am thinking it must be a master cylinder or something.-   Guest

-   The day before, I drove over 30 miles and my brakes were just fine, I had absolutely no problems. Today, as I began to brake, the brakes barely worked. Normally, I could go from 10 m.p.h to a stop almost instantly. Now, it takes me about 3-4 seconds. Tommorrow, I know I should check the brake fluid, and the brake pads? If there are problems with either of those, what should I do?
Did you bleed the brake system after replacing the master cyl? If not this could be the biggest part of your problem. So bleed your system see if that helps.

- Good day,
I would go back over over the lines that you attached to the new master cyl, just to hake sure that they are tight , clean them up could have one with a crack in it.Re-Bleeder you system any see how it is. Possible that you got a bad rebuilt. Did you bench bleed the master cyl before you install it? Please let me know how you make out.
