Question about Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Vehicle: 2004 chevy silverado problem: when i run the a/c, the drivers side vents work fine but the passenger side vents will not blow anything but HOT air. I did recently wire a couple of aftermarket horns but that was very simple and only required me to splice into a horn wire and run power directly from the battery and all went right into it's own relay.

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado and when the battery is disconnected/reconnected the dash vents don't work. This only lasts for a short period of time (a week or two) and I still have cold air that blows through the floor vents and the defrost vents. What is the solution to this problem?

I changed the battery in my 04 chevy silverado and the driver and rear ac work fine. but the passenger side just blows hot air.

I disconnected the battery and replaced the turn signal/flasher relay located on the back of the fuse panel located on the driver's side of the dash. The turn signals are fixed, but now the a/c blows hot heated air on the driver side vents while the passenger side a/c cools normally.

Passenger vents blow hot air, drivers side blows cold air. sometimes blows no air at all. Takes forever in the winter to warm the truck to just get warm and the opposite during the summer,

What could possibly be the problem.

I had someone look at it last summer and he moved some things around in the door itself and it worked fine for about a week.

Please offer a solution I would like to have the problem permanently fixed.

As long as you did not have to go into the dash to splice those wires, I would say that you have either a Tempreture door that is Broken, or the actuator that controls the passenger side temp. door is bad. Most likely cause will be the actuator, because they have a very high failure rate. The actuator is located is located on the very top of the a/c-heater box behind the radio and a/c control head. It will be rather hard to change because every thing fits so tight. But if you remove the radio and the A/c control head you should be able to find it. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Douglass, Your A/C may have lost it's programming, blend door actuator could be faulty or A/C could be low on refrigerant. You may have to take in and have a good Tech. diagnose and estimate repair.

My 2004 Chevy only blows warm air on the passenger side my driver side is always cold. It has a dual air systems, but my A/C works great on both sides. What can i do to fix this problem ?

i am an owner also same vehicle there is a baffler in the center of the console next to the front window it you can find it cause there is a little hole you cn see this controls the air distribution to the driver side . i tried getting to it twice it is difficult to remove all that. Was close but ran out of time and gave up was quoted over $300
to repair if i removed the steering wheel it might have been easier to solve . good luck

Heater only works on passenger side.

there is a motor actuator that moves these doors for hot and cold, two separate ones for either side. the motor unit for drivers side is no good and needs new one. replace this and all will be good.

Check movement of vent doors on that side. Sounds like they aren't moving over as they should. (Or hose fell off on passenger side.)

maybe drop the blower motor and check the vents for obstructions. I worked on a friend's car this spring that had a two year-old repair bill sucked in to the blower wheel....it limited the air output but made a lots of noise in the process.

A/C and Heat Driver Side Intermittent Problem

You will need to replace your driver side temp actuator. It is most likely sticking or over travelling. It is located under the dash directly below the a/c control head. It is bolted to the a/c box upside down with two small bolts. Let me know if i can help more.
