This only happens intermediately. I will be driving and stop at a stop light and when i push the gas it will reve up but will not shift in to first and then if i let it set for 30 mins and all night it will not do it again. it has been three weeks since it has acted up what should i do.
I had the same problem, I replaced all the solenoids and the internal wire harness and still not fixed. Sounds stupid, but was told it could be the ignition switch and harness (not key tumbeler) replaced it ($102.99 @ autozone) and seemed to fix the problem..... Good luck559450

With the little information I was given there is two possible answers,The first is not an easy fix or a cheap one and that is a slipping band in the transmission and the second is the speed sensor on the transmission eighther one would require having it looked at by a transmission shop.
I would guess that something inside of the transmission has failed and there is no longer a mechanical connection between the motor and the drive axles regardless of what gear you attempt to move in.[sheared splines, broken planetary, etc.] Often when this happens you won't hear any kind of noise because of the failed parts being inside the transmission case...instead the car just won't go anymore. You could have a CV drive axle joint that has failed but generally they will make some noticable rattling or grinding noise as they churn away when you try to go forward or reverse. If something has failed inside of the transmission then the transmission will need to be removed and repaired. It if is just a drive axle joint that has failed then that can be replaced without doing anything to the transmission. Hope this helps and good luck!
Same thing happen to mine, found out that it was the gas cap causing my problem. It was either air locked or sensor, but when I took the cap off and put it back on with at least 3 turns, never had the problem again. Hope this helps!
Did you check the transmission fluid again. You could have a major leak. Or reving the car up so high it started to burn the clutches in your transmission, resulting in replacing the transmission. Always check the fluid. A few dollars for fluid is better than 1500 bucks for a new tranny
these are famous for transmission kick down cable linkage seize up I own two when it first happened to my wife she thought transmission was gone stuck in hi gear and kicked in second like a bronco! the cable is hooked to the throttle cable and to the trans mission these work in synchronization if you pull it off clean it up with steel wool grease and reassemble your good to go infarct with out the car started go push the gas pedal i bet it stops half way like a rock!!!! most will go to the floor!!!check it out I think you will find my description!good luck hope this helps you out merry christmas
