Question about 2008 Chevrolet Impala

Automatic Headlights don't work on Impala - Police Package.

I have a 2008 Impala - Police Package. I can't get the headlights to come on automatically at dusk. I've tried turning the headlight switch from auto to off, a couple of time. I've read the manual and it doesn't look like this is an optional feature, so it should work.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Its called a multi functional switch in your steering column. The part is 525.00 at the dealer but can get online for about 365.00. Normally the high beams work and lows do not. 1.2 hours to replace this part.

I have an 2004 impala and every now and then it would lose the headlights for a couple of seconds and they would come back on. I finally replace the headlight switch and the problem went away. A switch, if I remember right, was about $500.

Headlights don't come on automatically

One way to turn off the automatic headlights when the ignition is to apply the parking brake. That dinging sound you hear when you shift into drive is also common with the parking brake applied.

Release the parking brake.

Where is adjustment screw for headlights on 2008 impalla

Vic, the adjuster is either a allen key, torx, or #2 philips type bolt found close to the bolt that is holding headlight in place on inner fender rail/flange. I believe on the Impala the only adjustment is up and down of the light beam. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Headlights only work when car is in gear

If you are stating the headlights only work while in gear (during the day or night) then they are your daytime running lights. Don;t know if you vehicle has automatic headlights or a manual switch. If you are stating you turn the headlights on and they only illuminate while in gear then there are other issues. Let me know

Rear tires wear on the inside

we called GM and they talked with our local dealer and they will fix the car. however, we still have a warranty so it will be under that. if you call GM have the facts handy, that this is a problem in certain Impalas, not just police cars. today is the last day to ask for payment for tires already purchased. again this applies to police cars but we know GM should repair all cars with this problem.

here's the repair procedure--

Correction Dealers are to replace the rear wheel spindle rods, align the rear wheels, and if necessary, replace the rear tires (only) that exhibit lower tread depth on the inboard side. If the tires have already been replaced due to this condition, the customer may request reimbursement

2004 chevy impala no headlights

there's a button on the right side of the steering wheel that says serv push that button. It's put right there for when they use them as police cars you can cut the headlights off. You will probably notice that dash lights are on.
