    I have the same problem. Good Luck finding an engine. The 99 grand ams have horrible engines.

Pontiac Grand Am 1995 rear seal crankshaft


If this car has been in storage, try adding a tablespoon of DOT3 brake fluid to the engine oil to condition the seal. The engine has to come out to replace that seal. At least 8 hours labor.$$$$$$$$.

I read in the manual that you get to take it to the dealer and they will clear this wonderful code that activates the wonderful light on the dash. the redneck in me advises the use of black electrical tape over the wonderful light . that is how i fixed mine . I got the same year grand prix

about 400,00 plus the engine for me too do it you can get one at a salvage yard for abot 300.00
