Re: code for a 2002 vw cabrio radio
Take out the radio. sometimes the code has been written on it. It also might be written on the owners manual. If not, take the radio and your VIN (vehicle identification number) to the dealer with proof of ownership of the car. If you are nice to them they just might give you the code. My local dealership gave my code to me like this.

the radio code would be on a card with the original owners manual. If you do not have the original owners manual or bought the vehicle second hand, the only way to get the code will be by going to your local VW dealer with the serial number/ownership slip and paying to get the code.
Passats can be reset if the radio is pulled out and the fuse on the back is removed. Wait for 2 mins, reinsert the fuse and turn the radio on. If this doesn't work, please take it to the dealer for the unlocking of the code, for which he may charge you some fee.
Call your local VW dealer and ask for the crevice department
Have your car VIN number ready at hand
They shut be able to tell your code by you VIN number
How ever some times they wan to make money and they will tell you
Than you going to have to bring your car over so they can charge you just for that
If you have the Delta stereo (with the power/volume knob in the middle), you need to hold the "DX" and "FM1/2" buttons simultaneously. Hold them down for a few seconds, and SAFE will be replaced with numbers. Use the radio preset keys (1-4 I believe) to enter each number. When the code is successfully input, hold down the DX and FM1/2 buttons again, and the stereo will start to work.
If you mess up entering the code, you can try again. If you mess up a second time, you have to leave the stereo off and the key turned on in the ignition for an hour to allow you two more tries.
For this code you most likely would have to get it from VW. Unless you get lucky and fine it on the internet. There is a good site to fine that can off stuff just look up the web site scribd.
Hope that this helps.
