Re: 2003 maxima windows go down
When you unlock your vehicle with a key fob and hold the button on these models the windows roll down it is possible that your fob might be faulty, remove battery from fob for that night and see if there is any change, receiver inside vehicle may have internal failure, it is not likely that master switch has anything to do with it since it has no power supply with key removed.

this happened to my wife tonight with her 89' maxima but the alarm went off while she had the car in gear and opened the passenger side door to shut it all the way she got the alarm off but the car would not crank..... lights, radio, everything was working just would not turn over I took the keys out locked the driverside door and put in the key and it resets the alarm and car started right up:)
now you know what sets off the nissan alarm.lock the car, with the key, hold key over for 30secs then unlock with remote.should reset system....you unlocked the car manually so you need to lock the car manually....
Probably a circuit breaker tripping and then resets itself in time.Could be a loose wire or bad spot in motor. Try taking a can of silicone spray & spray the felt channels where window rides, and make sure you spray lots at lower part so it can run down in the channel below. Work window up & down a few times to spread it around and see if that doesn't help as well. May need to clean window after but small price to pay for a fix.
Most cars will do this for tem minutes, that is, let you roll down the windows even after the key is off. When you open the drivers door, it automatically cuts all power, thus stopping the procedure. Hope this helps.
Same problem on passenger door 92,000 miles. Dealer said he can reset the regulator inside the door by pressing button. I am looking for more information on this problem too. He estimates 1/2 hr (~$50) to do work.
