Another problem is that my heat works great but my air want work at all. I took it by the shop but I was told there were no leaks in any of my lines. Make certain that the correct belt was installed. There can be a few options, usually due to alternater amperage. If you a have a belt that is slightly longer than it should be, it may slip on the pulleys, at tmes, and cause all sorts of grief!

1999 Mercury Cougar AC compressor goes off and on very quick and its not staying on long enough so it just blows hot air. I checked freon and its fine even trie putting in little more but it didn't ...

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
I may not recommend a bypass on the compressor's wiring. This can lead to wire burning and may damage the vehicle's electrical system (which usually happens during bypass). If you can get one on the junkyard then it's better plus you can cut the cost.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

MY 1999 COUGAR JERKS WHEN I'M DRIVING IT, WHY IS IT DOING THAT?

The wire harness for the crank senser can get into troble and make a crasy cut out miss stumble, You may have to remove the senser and unplug it, Remove the lagging cover and inspect the wire by bending it. (bends easy it's broke ). The break can be in the wire past the plug on the engine harness the wire gets hot and brittle or even oil soaked as the oil transmits heat better than air and makes the insulation get hard quicker. Lots of different cars and other engines ( chainsaws, Lawnmowers , boats, Motorcycles) Your car is old and the wires are too.

Heater not blowing hot air

If the fan motor is blowingthen this is a sign that the fuse is good, if it's not then check the fuse, or you may need a new fan. as for not blowing heat it could be that the gate valve in the heater lines is stuc closed for some reason, or you could need a new thermostat. as for fuse slots 5 & 6 I am not really sure for your car as I would need to see the fuse panel and what accessories you have. Good luck and remember to rate all the solutions you get, thanx.
