How to bypass ac pulley on 97 buick skylark 2.2 4cyl

According yo my investigating, the 4 cylinder option on that car was a 2.4L engine. If that is correct, then there is no direct option to bypass the A/C pulley with a shorter belt. However, Autozone has a bypass pulley that can be installed where the A/C compressor is to allow you to drive without A/C. Here is a link to the page....

What size serpintine belt would I use to bypass the ac compressor on my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, 2wd 4.0?

They do make an ac bypass pulley for your vehicle, then use the same belt. I'm not aware of a belt for this vehicle w/o ac.

I'm not saying you can't take a string and measure around all the pulleys you need to use, then go to the auto store and see if they will let you check all their belts for something that might work? That sounds like a lot of trouble to go to, when you can just use a bypass pulley.

I need to bypass the ac compressor on my 2000 mercury grand marques. Is it possible without purchasing a bypass pulley or anything else?

I am going to take a wild guess and assume you are speaking of the serpentine or standard fan belt here. I guess you wish to not repair the ac, because of the cost at this time.
I have been able to bypass that ac pully a few times, but not always.
One way you might try would be to remove the belt that drives the ac compressor, and then take a string or rope and try to wrap it properly over each pulley and see if that is even possible. Some cars will make bypassing that pulley impossible due to the positioning of that compressor.
If you find that there is clear passage for the string or rope, and that all other pulleys will be driven, tightly stretch the string or rope, and then that will be the length of belt you will need to buy.
God bless your attempts.

There are two companies that I've heard of that make a bypass pulley. One is Dorman the other I can';t remember. Both require that the compressor be removed and the pulley replaces it so you can run the same belt and configuration. You'd need to check with your local parts house to see if they make one for your engine. Most factory systems don't allow for a bypass... the belt usually ends up hitting something and not working.

Talk to your automotive supply. My understanding is that a Non-AC belt will run right thru the area where the AC pulley is. You can get a bypass pulley that will allow you to avoid the AC and it's pulley and a specific belt for that setup.

Can I bypass the AC clutch with a different blet

Not with a different belt, If you want to bypass your AC go to your local parts store and purchase a AC bypass pulley remove the AC comperssor bolt on the bypass pulley then use your original belt. make sure to cap ac lines to keep dirt out if you want to put AC back on.
