I own a 1991 Toyota Camry and when I start the car it starts but when I put it in drive to go it quits

There is a big black rubber hose under the hood that comes off of the air filter box going to the throttle body that will get hard and crack. it will mostly happen to 4cyl camry and only in drive and starting to give it gas. it is just to much of an air leak and engine will die. hope this will help let me know and good luck..............
