Hi. The indicator lamp might be in the need of a replacement, or the a/c switch is not working, creating a peermament short. Usually a replacement of the switch will get rid of this problem.

My cooling fans run all time even when ac light is off. my engine light is on and the obd2 reading says the bank one oxygen sensor is done, and it says theres a cooling problem. why are the fans on ?

was there a code logged with the cooling problem?,this seems to be the fail safe for that code, usually fans only lock on if there are numerous codes and it often indicates a 'limp home' mode that the system goes into, generally it will restrict transmission shifts also.Have you tried to have the fault codes cleared? They may come back but it will indicate if fans are on due to them.

2005 cadillac cts base water pump replaced by unauthorized dealer. Now "check coolant light is coming on again" Any thoughts on this matter

If there is no indication of overheating, the check coolant light is probably triggered by a sensor indicating low coolant level. It's also possible that there is air trapped in the cooling system from when the water pump was replaced. Trapped air could cause the sensor to throw the trouble light. Bleed the air from the cooling system and see if the light goes out. You may have to clear the light after bleeding the system.

Air condition not cooling. Indicator light flashes when air is on intermitantly.

Check the refrigerant charge of your system. If there's no pressure in the lines, the whole A/C system will shut-off. Check for leaks in the tubes, hoses, filter dryer, pressure switches, and compressor fittings. If the system has no charge and there's no visible leak from the items mentioned, the leak could be in the evaporator coil or condensing coil.

On xk8 the coolant level indicator is showing - can i top up with water or do i need coolant. are there any follow ups required?

The only time you should use water is in emergencies only, always use coolant specific to your brand of car. The cooling system is a closed system needing only periodic maintenance, the fact that the indicator light is on I would take it for a check up.

Maintenance Required Indicator is RED. I tried resetting this but it still stays red. I have resetted this before and it would turn green. But this time it stays red. What does that light indicate anyway?...

yes, this is an indication that is instructing you to change the oil. the constancy of the oil is thinning. these Hondas have a very sophisticated oil system sensory module. it will tell you if the oil is to thin. very cool system.

Hi Pathman,

I was going over unsolved problems and found yours.

After a cool night, condensation forms on the cool metal. The white smoke is that condensation burning off. If it did not stop, that would be indicative of a worse problem.
