Question about 2001 Isuzu Rodeo

2001 Rodeo Sport v-6 Auto 2wheel with pw, pl, remote factor alarm

I have 2001 Rodeo Sport that when you open front doors the interior lights do not come on. When you open the rear door the interior lights do come on (hard top). The wire on the new door triggers for both front doors has power to black with white stripe but the red wire, the ground, is not a ground or is not grounding. I can turn the light on the roof manually but when it is in the center position is when the door lights and the roof light will not come on when either front door is open. Again, the rear door when open triggers both the top light and the light in the rear removable roof panel. While the doors are opened and the key is out of the ignition the front doors automatically lock. I have located the two ground wires under the console and the one on the driver's firewall and have taken them loose, cleaned them and retightened them. I have disconnected every terminal on both driver and passenger sides and have also take out the alarm boxes (2) on the passenger side behind the glove box. I have checked all relays under the hood and they all appear to be working fine. Can a short be in the alarm or remote system that is preventing the ground wire from grounding? Whether you check the door lights at the bottom of each door or the trigger that activates when you open the door, the hot wire is hot but the ground wire is not ground. Thanks, my name is lindsey lindsey@mindspring.com

I asked for a refund twice in the email and in the open session. Whoever you had on the session just left me after I explained what was going on. You guys are a scam and I intend to expose it.

When setting the remote to lock the car, my alarm is sounding before I shut the door.

just shut your door first, before setting the remote to lock your car as doing that needs your door closed and switch your interior light to working only when your door is open. your door and that light is part of your alarm.

Try unlocking the driver side door manually with the key. This works on some car alarm systems.

Interior lights stay and alarm goes off every time i lock it

Your car thinks a door is open , thus the light stays on. When you lock the doors with the remote it activates the alarm system. 10 sec later it senses that the a door is open and alarm sounds.
I have a 99 passat as well and I just went outside to see where the switch on the door is. Can't see one anywhere , it must be inside the door (part of the latch mechanism). I tried to arm the alarm system by locking the doors with the remote while the door was still open , sure enough the alarm went off about 15 secs later.

1997 Isuzu Rodeo 2wheel drive. Repalced

Get a Beck Arnley alternator. The auto-zone, Napa etc. alternators are a problem for Isuzu's. I worked at a dealership and a lot of them came in for this problem. If you still have the original have it rebuilt. Check yellow pages.

Car Alarm

sounds like the drivers side key switch has failed remove the interior door panel and there will be a switch attached to the back of the key lock cylinder or around there it should be two or three wires also check the door jamb wire harness where the door closes for any broken or damaged wires, use a vot meter and see if you get power or ground to the opposite side of the switch when you use the key to lock and unlock the door if nothing changes and there is power or ground! at this switch i would replace it, i don't think there is one but if the car has a passenger side key hole try to unlock the car from that side and see if you get the same problem -jeff
