My 2003 Tbird started leaking in the trunk about 4 months ago. It's not a real bad leak, but enough to get whatever is in there very damp. What's going on with it? Anyone know?

Unfortunately, this is not something you can fix yourself. You will need to take the car to either the dealer or a shop which specializes in fixing convertible tops, headliners, etc (commonly called an automotive trim shop) Most used car dealers have a trim shop that they can recommend.

I suggest you take this to the dealer ! This is a complex system with two control modules ,the front control module an rear control module , two relays in the Aux . relay box . Top up relay an top down relay . The two control modules communicate on the SCP serial data bus . If you don't know what I telling you ,best take it to someone who does . Need a Factory scan tool to check this problem out. Communications Network Information Module Cars are getting more an more electronic an with out proper training you just shouldn't try to fix them , It takes special tools an training !

Can't fix anything till you find out where the leak is

Get inside & have someone run the hose on it

sorry to hear about your car problems

4 things come to mind.
1.) has the car been wrecked and repaired, if so the doors may be out of adjustment.

2.) faulty door deals. the rubber seal that goes around the doors.

3.) a bad windshield installation or seal. if the windshield seal is bad it could allow water in at the top which could run between the cars metal roof and the fiberboard interior roof.

4.) bent doors

if the car has never been wrecked and the doors have never been removed then you can pretty much count out 1 and 4. check the door seals for tears or missing or flat sections. if they are intact then you may want to try pouring some water around the top of the windshield and check for leaks.

just some ideas. hope this helps, have a good day.

The convertible roof leaks and also needs a

If you need a manual, you need a factory manual. Aftermarket manuals seldom address the convertible top.
Convertible tops seldom leak till they are 5-6 yrars old unless the material is defective.
Your problem is probably weatherstrips.
Either they are damaged or out of place.
Door window adjustment will also cause a leak at the weatherstrip.
If the water is in the rear of the car, you probably have plugged drains.
Convertibles leak at the rear from new. there is a gutter that directs the water to drain holes near the rear wheels. If the drains get plugged, the water will seep into the rear carpet or trunk.
Solution...clear the drains.

Convert top stopped working

I had this problem not long ago. In the trunk on the right side (facing the trunk) there is a manual switch for the top. My son changed my tailights and accidentally switched it to manual. I switched it back to automatic and have not had probs since.
