1999 toyota camry xle. 153000 miles. runs great. around 45mph loud roaring noise fromn rear of car. Took to mechanic and they said it was the wheel bearing going bad. I was also told you cant buy the bearing alone you have to buy the whole assembly. They wanted to charge $291.00 for part. Does this sound correct?

My toyota corolla 2005makes loud roar noise. not as bad at 65mph. when turn to the left it no loud

If it isn't the tire and it changes when you turn, I would suspect the wheel bearings.

2000 Camry differential noise

No I really doubt that it has transaxle noise, it is very likely a bad front wheel bearing. Raise the car up and support it on jack stands and block the rear tires, buy a mechanics stethoscope and listen for the noise at the wheels wit the scope while a helper run the car in gear. Be very careful doing this.

After having cv joints replaced on my 99 mazda 626 there's a loud roaring while driving. What is the cause of the roaring?

The noise you are describing may very well a bad wheel bearing, the wheel bearings are sealed units and they last about 100,000 miles on average, the fronts go 1st because they carry the heaviest load.

Loud roaring noise in rear tires

Chances are that your wheel bearing has gone bad and will need to be replaced. Auto Zone will have the part and tools you'll need to replace the wheel bearing with step by step instructions for you to get the job done. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your car is running 10%% again soon

Not-too-loud roar sounding

could be a wheel bearing. get the car up where you can spin the wheel, now grab the strut spring with your hand and spin the wheel. you will be able to feel "roughness" on the wheel that has a bad bearing.

1999 Toyota Camry check engine and trac lights on

I would ignore the problem until something else happens and the car is not running right. A lot of the time it could be a bad sensor or computer. I would say the same thing to my customers as your mechanic.
