1994 JGC tranny problems

My wife recently purchased a 94 JGC at an auction without checking it out mechanically. It seems to be OK except for the tranny. I don't have the time and don't want to put a lot of money into it.
The problems are when putting it in park it will sometimes roll and when it gets hot there is a whining noise from the tranny. The fluid doesn't smell burnt. It seems to shift OK.
Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing that can make the noise is the transmission front pump, if the trans works ok try changing the fluid and filter, it may help or reduce the noise.

well to tell if the belt is to tight find the longest spot in the belt that isnt touching any pulley and in the pulley see if u can move the belt around a half inch or so, if u cant move the belt any then yes it is too tight if it moves too far then the belt is loose, good luck

LOST ALL TRANNY FLUID

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like you either lost your torque converter or the forward seal on the tranny most likely do to an inner pump problem. All this adds up to a transmission rebuild unfortunately.

Can i put a 1994 acura integra ls trans to replace a 1989 acura i

I don't think this would be possible wihtout some hassles.

The engine type build changed twice between the 89 and the 94 series integra.

I would suggest you speak to Honda specialised mechanic before you purchase the 94 tranny.

Also check out the Honda forums as they ahve guys who have done some handy things with the ol integra

Sounds like the tranny control circuit needs to be replaced. It may just be the wires that go from ECM to tranny control module

94 Jeep Wrangler grinds and thuds

Usually when a pinion bearing goes bad it will make a howling sound when your not on the gas. It could be that it went bad. If you think it's tranny fluid leaking check your fluid level it is dark red by the way and should not smell burnt if it does you have tranny problems. Gear oil is not red but dark brown.

94,merc tracer wont go into reverse

this is an electric tranny. when they stop going in gears it means the transmission is failing mechanicly. check fluid level, and smell it. if it smells burnt or looks very dark its prob on its way to be rebuilt. good luck.

Transmision

Hi joshdwright, is your trans a AW-4 or a 46RH? the 46RH was set behind the 5.2L engine and is a 4sp/od and the AW-4 is an electronically controlled 4sp automatic. start simple check that trans oil level is good then if you have the AW-4 make sure the the shift cable adjustment is correct/on the 46RH make sure the linkage is assembled properly, after these checks things get a little more complicated so get back to me and let me know what you found out buddy we'll go from there good luck
