Need to know engine size and what codes are stored. Put the unit into neutral and shift 4x4 between positions. Listen to the shift motor on the transfer case for operation. Send the info back and I'll check the forum later.Good Luck.

Dodge Neon low oil pressure

Hi John, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

John, Low oil pressure can be many things. BUT, first you need to hook up an oil pressure gauge just to make sure its not the oil pressure sensor. If you have already put a new sensor on and it still has low oil pressure then you still need to check pressure with a gauge to make sure its not in the wiring or connector. If you find good oil pressure with the gauge then it need to be check to see why the pressure is low. It could be oil pump OR bearing issue. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website here: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

I have a 2003 mercury mountaineer with over 1000,000 miles on it. Last night the O/D light came on flashing and the service engine light came on steady. It doesn't want to shift from a low gear into

Hi there William, your problem could be that the auto rquires servicing if there is a dipstick for the auto oil check the colour of it, if not red/pink. Maybe low on trans fluid. Auto parts shop for correct fluid.May require auto shop for code scan as well.

My 4 wheel auto works but not 4 wheel hi or low

The actuator could be bad and not telling the motor to switch, or it could be the switch.

Semi auto gearbox My car started kicking like a Kangroo, then it cut out and wouldn't turn over. Now, the engine works but the gearbox is stuck in neutral and will not change gears in manual or semi...

Hi,

You'll need to provide us with the following information:

- Make of vehicle
- Year of vehicle
- Engine size (e.g. 2.0L, 3.5L etc)

I suspect the low trans fluid is contributing, but we need above vehicle details to see if we can carry out some further diagnostics....

All lights work including high beam, but NO low beam. 1994 Capri.

Hi, ther are two elements in each headlight bulb , one for high beam and one for low beam and your low beams are burnt out ,you will have to replace the bulbs to have low beams too , which you can get at the auto parts store, they are not very expensive or difficult to do .

How to use the 4x4

well, if you are sitting still it is recommended you put vehicle in neutral and select 4x4 indicator to desired posistion..... 4 high...4 low...or 2high (auto) when you select 4 low the top speed is not to exceed 25 mph. It is a very low gear for crawling or pulling. At any time you need 4 low gear you must stop trk, shift to neutral and select 4 low. The same procedure is done to change from 4 low to 4 hi or 2 hi. if not done this way internal trans, transfer case or driveline failure will occure. At any time you may shift 4x4 selector from (auto) or 2 hi to 4 hi, and 4 hi to 2 hi or( auto).****** But note, do not make shifts while tires are spinning or under power (acceleration)******* While driving you can make shifts at any speed between 2 hi (auto) and 4 hi and back to 2 hi. release throttle a little and select. you do not have to take foot off throttle all the way! just enough that truck is not under a power, load acceleration. If tires are spinning or you are on the gas and you select gears from 2 & 4 high the posibilities of severe damage can result. Also note that 4x4 is not recommended on dry pavement. When 4x4 is being used also take care as to the handling and the steering characteristics change, On tight turns the front wheels will bind and possibly **** a little. If you have never had a 4x4 before, obey what i have told you untill you get the experiance and you will be fine. HAPPY TRAILS.... AND A LITTLE 4X4 FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No 4 hi

Hi: 4 High and 4 Low button should be flashing, If no 4 low either problem will be in the vacuum actuator located below the battery tray. 9 out of 10 times the actuator is not getting vacuum. Battery acid at some time dripped down on the actuator or vacuum lines and created a vacuum leak.
