2001 Mustang Cobra will not start

My battery is good, I can hear the engine crank. Never had a problem until today. Although the engine cranks, it does not catch (start). Any solutions?

Check your fuel pressure. also look in your owners manual for the fuel pump inertia switch sometimes they can trip by being kicked or bumped. it is designed to cut fuel off in case of accident.has a reset button usually located in trunk or rt side kick panel

the motor is cranking. that tells us you have a good starter and battery. now we need to see if the fuel pump works and if you have spark. what you need to do is turn the key to the start position and see if you hear a buzzing noise from the gas tank. if you hear a buzzing noise the pump is good. have to see if you have spark. is the check engine light on

My 2003 chevy malibu cranks but wont start. battery is good and altenator is good

To clarify - - if the engine cranks the battery and starter are ok.
The alternator does not come into play until the engine is running.
If it cranks but won't start, you have to figure out if you are missing fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed.
A mechanic would check that and if there are any trouble codes stored in the computer.

I have a 96 cobra when i turn the key everything comes on but it wont turn over

first of all have the battery tested, but its probably a bad starter. test for power at the starter, if 12volts on both positive wires when in crank mode wiring is ok.have someone knock on the starter with a hammer while the key is held in crank mode, if car starts replace the starter. if not attempt to turn the crankshaft by using a socket and breaker bar, on the bolt that holds the crank pully on. if unable to move crankshaft replace the engine

1999 ford mustang cobra alternator troubleshooting

Generally, you can check and test alternator with this procedure...

1. Clean the positive and negative battery terminals to ensure a good connection with the tester's clamps.
2. Connect the positive and negative clamps to the appropriate battery terminals. The clamps must make firm contact with the battery terminals or the test results will be inaccurate or the tester may not work at all.
3. Turn the tester on and choose the option for "full charging system test." This will test your battery, starter and alternator and provide the most accurate picture of the problem.
4. Follow the directions on the tester's screen. These instructions will include cranking the vehicle after the battery test is performed, holding the engine at a certain RPM range and turning on certain accessories.
5. Read the results displayed on the tester's screen. The tester should scroll through the results, starting with the battery, then the starter and finally the alternator. An alternator test result showing diode ripple problems indicates a bad alternator.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

    Maybe the solenoid is defective?.....or.....

There are 2 types of fender mounted solenoids and they look identical.

One......you apply power to one of the small terminals to actuate it.....the other small terminal is a power while cranking for the ignition on older models.(do you have these connections correct)?

The other model....and it looks the same......YOU GROUND THE SAME SMALL TERMINAL to actuate it.

2001 Mustang will not start. Most excesories work but engine will not crank. When key is twisted to start position all it does is click.

Check the battery terminals for lose connections.
Check the starter motor, it could be the solenoid switch.

your gas is most likely stale. go buy some octane booster. and some fresh gas and you should be able to get it going again. Spend the extra money and get the good booster. 108 works very well in my classic mustang.
