For starters, check the fuse block and inspect the most related fuses, like HORN, ACC, dashboard. The owner's manual should have a troubleshooting guide for the most basic stuff, including the horn. Try this for now and see how it works. Let me know if the problem persists. Good Luck.

Horn on 2006 Dodge Stratus does not work. What do I do to fix it?

I would say a new horn

Put battery voltage directly to it
& see if it works

If it made any sound-- how could it be a fuse ?

If it was a fuse, nothing would happen & a new
fuse wouldn't do anything, until you found & fixed
the reason a fuse failed

My horn just stopped working.i happen not to have the fuse diagram for my bmw e90 320d 2005..where can i get one.

The horns wiring goes through the many springs and brushes touching the rings inside your steering column. When my horn stops working i pull my steering wheel off to see what is going on. Next the wires pass through the ignition box where dozens of wires turn on when you start the car. This box often fails in an aging vehicle. Where did you get the idea that there is a fuse for the horn?

Check the relay, if you have one, it could be the horn switch too

2004 Chevy Silverado 2500... my horn suddenly stopped working. A guy that I hired to fix it checked it and said there is nothing wrong with the horn, it works. So he said it could be somehthing in the...

if the horn itself works there is a few things to check, the first is the cheapest, you take off the horn cover and there is a a thin round connector if it is out of the hole push it in and give a slight turn clock wise to lock it in place, also check to see if the relay works, when you press the horn you should hear it click.

The horn on my bmw 328i stopped working. How do you trouble shoot? How to do you replace?

1.check the fuse 2.using a test light check for voltage at horn while horn button is depressed if power is present horn is bad.horn is located behind the bumper. 3. if no power at horn and fuse is good suspect clock spring this part requires removal of steering wheel to replace and test.

sounds like a prob in the connection to your steering wheel. the steering wheel has a special connection that allows all the functions on it to be connected via a rotating connection (did i say connection enough...? lol) i dont know the terminology behind it, but that rotating thing is what lets you turn the wheel. Otherwise, regular connections with simple wires would bunch up everytime you turn the wheel. It sounds like something came loose or just lost connection in there..

sorry so vague. im a novice at this.

happy hunting

Car Information

Hi,

There would only be three (3) possibilities for a continuous blowing of horn:
1. defective/shorted horn relay ( very unlikely);
2. defective/shorted horn switch (very likely); and/or
3. shorted/grounded wiring (likely).

The horn switch is the contact switch normally embedded into the steering wheel.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
