Changing a battery on a Cobra 7777 remote control

I have recently changed the battery on my remote control, but then it has completely stop working, and I had to change to my alternate ket set.
I took the mulfunctioning remote control to Cobra dealer, and he turn his back to me, did something with the remote control, and is has started working.
What was the magic behing this episode?

The battery in the 7777 remote is a CR2032. If upon changing the battery the remote fails to work then you should stand next to the car and hold down both remote buttons for around 10 seconds to reactivate it. The remotes LED will flicker rapidly during this process. Keep holding both buttons until the LED stops flickering then release both buttons. The LED should now be on constant, press the larger of the two buttons and the remote should now be re-synced.
Note: This procedure is not to program the remote to the alarm, but to re-synchronise it.

If this aftermarket alarm is playing up then the best bet is to remove it completely before it packs up completely and leaves you stranded out in the middle of nowhere on a cold dark night.Any after market alarm or remote start is problematic when they get older and highly prone to going wrong owing to the complexity of the circuitsa and the fack they use inferior integrated circuits made in china

If it is a Ford Factory Alarm it should have key FOBS (remotes). Just press the unlock button 2 times and that should stop it. Alarm systems no matter what brand always have remotes. If you have remotes pressing the unlock should disarm the system 99 times out of 100. If that doesn't work then either the battery in the remote is dead, or the remote is broken. Hope this helps. Could be.
Yes, change the battery in the hand held unit first.

Next could be the control unit.
Next could be that there is something brocasting in the area that is near the same frequency.
Does this only happen at home? Or has it happened in other areas also?

Is this a factory unit? Or an aftermarket install?

How to disable a cobra 7777 alarm

first restore any cut ignition wires where the alarm was spliced in to the original starting system, theis will be near the steering column, then disconnect the fuse to the unit, this in most cases under the hood near the battery.
