The traction control resets itself, if the light remains on it means that a hard fault exists in the system and you must contact a local Ford dealer for diagnosis and repair.

You do not reset anything on any vehicle,
until you have completed the necessary
repairs

If you have any MIL Lamps, check lights etc
on your dash, you have a system malfunction

Been that way for 31 years, since 1980
with OBD1 & OBD2 on board systems

You may have a bad Wheel Speed Sensor
if Trac Light is on

Not necessary to go to a dealer
Any repair shop can fix it

Visit a Subaru garage for advice. Possibly a reset with their SnapOn OBD reader will suffice, if it is nothing else.

My traction control light came on after installing an Volant cold air intake on my 2006 CADILLAC XLR V HELP ME PLEASE

Most likely the air induction probably needs to be programmed into the ECM. But also you may have jounced a wire that has a connection to traction control and it is setting it off. Otherwise, you may have a standard trAction control problem that has to be addressed in the shop.

Engine cuts out after a skid

traction control faulty. You slip and slide, your traction control activates, then here lies your problem.. after your traction control activates, it is creating an electrical short, vacuum leak, etc. look at what your traction control is operating, probably brakes. SO look at the brake booster vacuum lines or connecitons. Hope this at least gives you an idea of where to look. COuld be your traction control module is faulty.

2001 olds ABS and traction control sensor issue

An ABS sensor DOES affect the traction control system. Traction control uses these sensors to determine if a wheel is losing traction. A bad sensor will cause both the ABS and TRACTION lights to come on.
The CHECK ENGINE light however is going to be a seperate problem.
