Probably a loose connection. or carbon brushes are sticking. maybe it was a tight squeeze where it went in? try connections, then remove and check carbon brushes, then make sure its not too tight where its sitting. hope this helps

Ihave subaru legacy Rs 1994, 2.0 147kw... when the engine is cold the car jerks driving and a steering relay can be heard ... What could be the problem?

Hard to tell from the question, but it could be that the drive belt that assists the power steering pump is loose or worn. Check any and all drive belts for proper tension and condition. The power steering pump is mounted top front of the motor. It has a fill cap on top where you can easily check if it needs power steering fluid. On the old subarus, they recommend using ATF (automatic transmission fluid) instead of power steering fluid. Hope this helps!

Ran lw on gas now it shakes and runs rough and dies

Sounds very much like it has blocked the fuel filter ! Easy and cheep fix ! On older cars I try never to run fuel to low as there can be a lot of crap in the bottom of the tank !! Hope this is a help ;)

1991 subaru legacy sport (turbo). Electrical fuel pump issue. the pump works, used an external 12v source with pump removed from vehicle, currently reinstalled. battery is charged, (sbfd fuse #2) is...

Hi,
if there is no power coming out from the relay, that will be the problem. as you said it is new, check it manually by connecting the terminal into the power source and check the continuity of the the output from the source.
Sometimes there is new parts that has a manufacturer defect. try another relay.

Hope that helps you out!

Need a "how to" change a fuel pump in legacy 94 -

fuel pump is in the boot you will need to remove your boot carpet ect... and you will see a plate close to your rear seats that can be removed all you will need is a simple socket set and a pair of pliers under tha plate you will see another plate on top of the petrol tank from memory i think there is 6 or 8 bolts to undo then before you pull the fuel pump out you will need to remove the 2 fuel lines that are conected, after you have done this you can pull the whole hanger unit out that holds the fuel pump and fuel gauge reader .simply swap fuel pumps over and is just a matter of putting everything back in the way you pulled it out its fairly simple ,done one a few months ago on a 93 legasy

hope this helps

94 subaru legacy wagon will start and run for a few seconds if the fuel pump is disconnected but won't start at all when reconneced.

Check for a very dirty air filter or an obstruction in the air intake. (Engine not getting enough air so mixture is too rich.) Check for fuel pressure to be correct and not too high with the pump running. If it is too high, check that the fuel pressure regulator is working.

Try this: connect the fuel pump but disconnect the cold start fuel injector. If you can get it to start and run, then fuel pressure being too high is most likely. When the cold start injector turns on, the extra pressure is causing more fuel to flow through the injector than normal and the engine floods out.

Put new fuel pump and fuel regulator now floods out car, 1992 subaru legacy.

what you need to do is test the injectors, they can occasionally get stuck open. The easiest way to test them is with a mechanics stethascope, or a long screwdriver if you have good hearing, you just listen to the one by one while the motor is running, and pay attention the the series of clicks within. after hearing a couple good ones you will get a feel for what they are supposed to sound like, any injector that does not sound like the others is not operating as it should and should be replaced. A feul injector that is stuck open will make no sound at all. It would be very odd for more than one to be stuck open so if you are not hearing clicks on multiple ones, it is likely either a problem with the power going in, or you are not listening hard enough.
