Screwed into the exhaust pipe coming off the exhaust manifold before it reaches the catalytic converter. That is the downstream sensor (usually goes first) There is an upstream O2 sensor also, I believe it is screwed into the air pump cannister? Need to research that further, would need your specific engine details. Mike

93 buick regal 3.8 codes 26QMD &42EST PLUS POOR GAS MILAGE

Code 26 is for a problem with one of the quad drivers inside the engine computer, or the wiring harness, and code 42 is for a problem with the ignition module or the control.
You'll need a shop manual with the testing procedures for each code to proceed.

I have 2002 Buick regal gs. I noticed a whining noise while driving. What could this be from, someone told me I may need to change super charger oil ? Please help .

this could be an alternator noise like the bearings.or it could be a bearing in the super charger.try changing the oil for the super charger and see if it helps especially if it hasn`t been changed.

Buick regal 92 3.8L Horrible fuel mileage

Sounds like you might have an oxygen sensor problem. Your catalytic converter(s) maybe defective or dirty. That in turn can dirty up the oxygen sensor. A defective oxygen sensor will send faulty info to the computer, interpreting the fumes as cold (even when the engine warms up). That causes the computer to adjust the fuel mixture to very rich, giving you poor gas mileage and the fuel smell. Hope it helps.

Poor gas milage

Gas milage will vary, depending on the manner in which you drive, also poor gas milage could be due to poor maintenance. Replace the PCV valve, the oxygen sensors, the fuel filter, plugs and wires, and have the injectors cleaned, switch to synthetic oil should improve the milage. .
