Knocking noise I have a 2004 Ford Escape and it makes a knocking noise up front. Not sure if it's a cv joint or something else.

2002 ford escape. Loud knocking when slowly braking. Humming vibration noise while driving. Not felt but heard. Put over 3575$ into it in one year as 6 mechanics bleeding me dry and not fixing problem

Single knock, or repeating? If repeating, do the intervals slow down as you slow the car?
Did your mechanics change wheel bearings, CV joints, or anything in the brakes?
without any info, we're guessing....

2002 ford explorer problems

the brakes have not been set properly. may be something stopping the pistons going back in. failing that the disc's are bent, can happen when over braking down hills etc. you would need the alinement checking.

A knocking and grinding noise coming from underneath the car,

if you had the CV JOINTSreplaced , they both should have lasted for a long time, how much do you trust your mechanic ? always something to consider ! also, the mechanic who replaced the CV'S last time, did he do a good job ? was there a grinding noise then ? did you get a warranty on the previous cv's, I'm not tryin to point any fingers, just sayin, you need to be aware of every move you make, and who you make it with. NOW, go to good transmission shop, have them test drive ,with you in car, and inspect your front end and transmission, its free , good luck

When i put the car in gear it makes a loud clanking noise and the motor shakes and the car will not move foward or backwards just had the rack and pinion replaced and driver side cv joints

It sounds like the CV joint has broken, On some occasions a rebuilt CV joint breaks. If you are able to look from the center of the front wheels inward you should be able to see if one of the joints have separated. If you had a shop do the job it should be fixed right at no charge. Sorry for the trouble.

2004 volks jetta,, weird noise and slight shaking from left front tire area ,, just had all new tires put on still shaking and a knocking noise

Is the noise apparent when you are making a turn? It sounds like you may have a CV joint problem. When they put new tires on did the installer mentioned that you needed your cv boot or axle replace?

CV joint noise

this sounds like a normal condition. sorry i cant give a real great technical explanation why, but it is. are you jacking up one side of the vehicle only? you will find that if both wheels are off the ground or if one is still on the ground, it will act completely different. just the way the final drive is set up.

Every time i hit bumps the right front knock

its probably a bad strut or cv joint- take it to a mechanic for diagnosis.
cv joints usually click when you turn whereas struts can make noises whenever. if the front right corner of the car rides lower i would look at the spring covering the strut- it could be broken.
