Question about Ford F-250

1 Answer

1994 F-250 7.3 Diesel, and the ABS light is on the dash. If I have the codes clear the light goes out intil i move just a few feet and comes back on. It has a rear end housing sensor and i change that and had the codes cleared, and still the same. Front wheels are roters and rear wheels drums brakes. At this time i do not think there is any front wheel sensors. Do i check the module for a open circet with a meter? Do i change the module at this time? Can this cause my cruse control from working as well? Any help will be great! jack jack90650@msn.com

You need to find out what the codes are before you replace anything more. If you have the RABS system, you only have the one sensor that you replaced. I've replaced more actuators than modules. Your workshop manual should tell you how to obtain the codes and what they are.

Abs light came on

Check all of your wheel speed sensors for any damage first. The ABS control pump goes out on these regularly. Hopefully you just have a speed sensor problem. A way to check now it is a good test but 70% accurate clear the code leave the car setting still crank the engine if the light comes right back on and will not clear it is the Pump if it only comes back on when you move the car it is a speed sensor. Thanks and remember to rate my solution and give testimonial this is how i earn my achievements here on FixYa Thanks in advance

I have 2004 dodge diesel 2500 and when i turn my wheel left my abs light comes on and brake light comes on my brake pedal goes to the floor and i have no brakes and when i turn the wheel back the abs and...

Its the wheel speed sensor, or the wires are damaged. Turn the wheels to the left and then go look at the harness. is it streched out? (as in not enough slack) Is it touching or rubbing something. Has it come loose from its clips? Look at the face of the sensor. A few scratches are okay but, if it looks hammered, its probably damaged and should be replaced. If the hub bearing was bad enough to allow contact damage to the WSS you would have much bigger problems.

ABS and Parking brake lights come on after shifting into drive and moving a few feet

Have the ABS codes scanned. Could be wheel speed sensors, however when the parking brake light comes on this is an indication that the EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) has a problem.
The most common 1216 error was repaired on mine by sending it in to a company online for $150.00. took about a week.

Every now and then the warning light on dash comes on esp and service light and car will not accelerate if i switch ignition off then on while still moveing it is ok again my car is a c5 2.2 diesel

You need to get an OBD codes reading done to be certain of the exact problem. Assuming that the ABS light is NOT also coming on and from what you describe it seems that you may have a stability problem...hense the ESP light showing. If code scan shows a fault "yaw sensor malfunction"....Try disconnecting this sensor for a few seconds and then re-connect. This sensor is prone to giving trouble and is bolted to the floor on the car...under the rear seat.
Hope this is of some help to you
Best of luck with it

ABS light goes on and off

Sounds like you have loose brake pad linings.
The traction control measures rotational speed between each rear wheel. If your pad lining momentarily causes one wheel to hesitate your trac control will flash. As the ABS detects braking without the brake pedal being pushed, it will flash.
Check your emergency brake pads. They can fall apart inside the drum/rotor combo on the rear. That is where your sensor is for the ABS.

Have you scanned both the engine computer and the abs computer? Because it is an abs problem, likely a wheel speed sensor.

Problems on dash of car?

This a wild guess but it sure sounds like maybe the dash has come ungrounded somehow. Many dash instruments share a common ground to the frame of the car and all kinds of crazy things can happen if the connection goes bad. I have also seen a dash go nutty like that if the car's engine computer crashes. Turning off the car and back on "reboots" it.
