Rotate throttle linkage cam to wide open position, remove cable from slot.squeeze the retaining ears togethet to remove cable from bracket. you will need a flashlite to remove cable from accelerator pedel disengage retainer from top of pedel.remove the horseshoe shaped clip from grommet at fire wall,work grommet out of hole then pull cable out from engine compartment side of firewall. install in reverse of removal

Where is the neutral safety switsh located? on a 95 dodge stratus
the neutral safety switch (Park/Neutral position switch) is located to the right of the transaxle range switch on the front of the transaxle, just above the fluid pan.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Safely raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Disengage the electrical connector from the switch.
  4. Unscrew the switch from the transaxle case.
To install:
  1. Position a new seal washer, then screw the switch into the transaxle case.
  2. Attach the electrical connector to the switch.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.

your kickdown lever/cable is starting to sieze. lubracate the kickdown cable, then inspect the kickdown linkage as it could be a broken cable clip.

Around 70 mph the tranny keeps going form one gear
You need to back off the transmission kickdown cable. It is located just beside your throttle cable near the air intake duct. You may have to remove the black plastic cover to gain access. Just back of the adjusting nuts about one quarter inch at a time until it operates correctly and lock them down at that point. Thank you, Dana
