I think that you have a shift or stuck or is worn out or you may have a gear that is worn out and needs to be replaced

SOURCE: my shifter on my 86 ford mustang is stuck in firdt gear what coul

Hi, if your car is manual gear box and its stuck in first then it could be one of a couple of things if the gear stick is solid and wont move out of the first gear possition then the chances are that it could be either the clutch has gone or the thrust bearing on the clutch has failed these parts both come in a clutch kit.

you could try rocking the car backwards and forwards whilst moving the gearstick to see if it frees up out of first gear.

Can you start the car up with the clutch pressed down and drive the car in first gear as normal if this is the case and you can drive the car in first gear and the clutch seems fine then it could be a more serious fault inside the gearbox even broken selector in the box.

let me know the outcome then i can assist you further ok

I have a 1999 mustang automatic in second gear it shifts hard but other gears are smooth. What could this be? Thanks, Dave

The brake band for the second epicyclical gears crown set is worn out and it will have to be replaced - a very big and expensive job that must be done by a specialized shop.

Gear stuck on reverse. Put on drive gear still in

Have your gearbox checked. Stucked up issue,
is often caused by a worn out part, (Bearing, or
bushing, or geartrain.

well the head gasket goes in between the head and the block. take of valve cover, then the exhaust manifold, then the bolts that connect the head to the block. the gasket underneath the head is the head gasket
